Stuck at installing PSI suppressor to helmet, mission will not proceed.

Below a screenshot of when I gave the blueprint to the professor. onscreen It says that I also received a blueprint but it is not in my backpack. Could that be the reason why it is not working at the mechanic

At the mechanic at the Chemical factory, I can't install the suppressor to the helmet somehow. When I'm at the mechanic I see a suppressor installed, but when I exit the upgrade window, the mission keeps saying I have to install the suppressor.

So I'm stuck. I tried replaying parts over and over, but I feel that I am doing something wrong or this part is bugged. Every replayed save leads to the same mission not proceeding.

Did you speak with the techie? He won't agree to install it initially and send you off to get permission from Cherkovsky or whatever his name is. After that you go to the techie, go into the upgrade window and attach it to the top part of whatever helmet you have.

If you did all that and it didn't work, maybe try with a different helmet? Otherwise it may be bugged.

Glad it helped.

Did you use another suit with a built-in helmet? I had one with separate helmet but curious if it works for ones with built-in

For the second try, I used a suit with separate helmet. But I saw videos of people who showed it worked with suit with attached helmet. That's why I was confused about me doing something wrong.

When i paly, as soon as I install the supressor the game crashes. No workaround with different helmet :( So now i am stuck

Hello Everyone, I believe I have fixed this quest and moved on. Here are the steps that I took. Please realize, I have not tested moving forward if there are any additional breaks in the questline, but I believe there are none. Thanks to all those at Nexus, I was able to download the list of cfg files w/ the questline ID's and this is how I found the solution.

PLEASE REALIZE AT STEP 4 YOU ARE DECIDING TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THE SPARK FACTION (STALKER) PATH, NOT THE PATH WITH THE WARD FACTION. YOU CAN INSTALL THE SUPRESSOR WITH THE WARD. YOU WILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE SID ALL File from Nexus Mods to open the E08_MQ03.cfg file and find this path on your own.

E08_MQ03 is the SID code for "In Search of Past Glory" questline.

REMEMBER, THE STEPS BELOW ARE ONLY FOR THE SPARK FACTION PATH. THE WARD PATH REQUIRES YOU TO GO TO THE CHEMICAL PLANT, I'M NOT WITH THE WARD SO I DON'T KNOW HOW THESE STEPS WILL WORK FOR YOU.

SPARK PATH FIX

1. Installed UETools.

2. Complete the discussion with Dpuvalov and Shcherba.

*At this point you are supposed to be able to get the psi-*suppressor blue prints by speaking with Scherba but it will not happen with the glitch.

3. Open your console and type:

XStartQuestNodeBySID E08_MQ03_SetJournal_E08_MQ03_Finish

This will end the Questline with Dpuvalov and Shcherba, but you will NOT have the blueprints for your suppressor. Moving forward from here will result in a really hard fight because you won't have the suppressor.

4. Open your console and type:

XStartQuestNodeBySID E08_MQ03_SetJournal_E08_MQ03_InstallUpgradeSpark_Start

This will start the questline for installing the blueprint.

5. Open your console and type:

XCreateItemInInventoryByID Blueprint_FaustPsyResist_Quest_1_1

This will add the psi-suppressor into your inventory.

6. Teleport to Rostok so you can confirm everything is working quickly and save you some time.

Type in your console:

UETools_Ghost

This will make you noclip

UETools_TeleportTO 317400.00, 415600.00, 350.00

This will take you to Rostok:

UETools_Walk

This will make you walk again

7. Upgrade your Armor at the Tech by installing the suppressor to the head piece.

Hopefully after installing the upgrade the questline will continue with, you getting a radio communique from Star and starting the mission "Happiness for Everyone." If it does not, continue and it should happen after step 9.

You will still have the mission for having the technician install the upgrade.

8. Open your console and type:

XStartQuestNodeBySID E08_MQ03_SetJournal_E08_MQ03_Finish

This will remove the mission for having the technician install the upgrade. Hopefully there isn't anything important further down the questline from here.

9. Open your console and type:

XStartQuestNodeBySID E08_MQ03_SetJournal_E08_MQ03_InstallUpgradeSpark_Finish

By this point, if you do not receive a radio communique from Star and the start of the mission "Happiness for Everyone" does not begin then you have not progressed. Start this all over again and try different step orders. Perhaps type the command for Step 9 before the Command for step 8.

You need the command from step 8 to remove the "install the upgrade" point on your map.

10. Hopefully there aren't additional questlines in this chain that will screw the game up. Move forward with the "Happiness for Everyone Questline."

11. Teleport to Duga if you want to make sure it's working, but be aware battles will be happening, be ready.

12. Fight the monolithians and then check that you can progress the story with Star.

13. Trouble Shooting Failure

If the steps above did not work for you, you may need to add the blueprint and start the "XStartQuestNodeBySID E08_MQ03_SetJournal_E08_MQ03_InstallUpgradeSpark_Start*" prior to using the "XStartQuestNodeBySID E08_MQ03_SetJournal_E08_MQ03_Finish" command. "The Install Upgrade Spark" is a quest branch/line for the "E08_MQ03" quest (In Search of Past Glory) so you may need to keep the quest active for the "InstallUpgradeSpark_Start" and "InstallUpgradeSpark_Finish" before using the "E08_MQ03_Finish" command.*

E08_MQ05 is the code for "Happiness for Everyone," the next quest, You can use:

"XStartQuestNodeBySID E08_MQ03_SetJournal_E08_MQ05 _Start"

to start this mission it if all else fails and/if you have the suppressor installed.
