Is there a way to play without installing the Update?
My game is running fine, is there a way to by-pass the Update and play?
I've tried disabling Steam Updates and launching using the STALKER2.exe but it still downloads the Update.
I'd rather play this Weekend and not Troubleshoot a broken game.

What is the issue? The update solved most of the problems I was having and my PC is quite weak. There's still some memory leak (e.g., I notice FPS drops if I play for awhile which is fixable by just saving and loading - not ideal but progress).

Not any more, Steam stopped that ages ago.
Gar, but Jack Sparrow always finds a way!

just spending 5min in the settings of the game solve like 99% of all fps drops.

There is no way to run it "Offline" anymore?

Most of my problems is that I simply have an older gpu (planning to upgrade around Christmas). But I noticed a huge improvement since the update. Before the game simply wasn't playable for me (averaging 20fps and mass drops down 5fps). Now the game runs at about 80fps stable outside of settlements and around 50-60fps inside settlements (I play on mostly all Low settings of course). So, I'm happy to see actual progress made with those issues. :)

Found a way. Should have thought of it first.
Put Steam into "Offline Mode", start game from STALKER2.exe, Esc from "Authentication Failure", play game without having to Update.

I've tried disabling Steam Updates and launching using the STALKER2.exe but it still downloads the Update.
I'd rather play this Weekend and not Troubleshoot a broken game.
Given that many players are complaining about the base game being buggy, you might be better off just installing the patches. Just my two cents.

There are also players complaining that todays Patch breaks things more.
I got my game working, so I'm going to hold off patching and updating until I'm sure everything has stabilized.

Yeah, for me it wont even install the patch because apperently 300gb of free space is not enough for that.

You could try copying the game into another folder dropping a 2 in the name of said folder. Your trick works for some games but not others. I have a feeling that is a developer option or older games do not get the fix. Though it is not really that it is broken.
As for the taking all day to download and install the update that is 100% Steam no matter the patch size. Steam does not ever work well with Unreal games intentionally.

Hahahahahahaha.............it takes a whole day + for me to download, we don't all have the luxury of high speed internet to download 120 gb in 20 minutes. So EVERY time I want to play I have to wait anywhere between 3 Hours for 10gb or a whole day for 120gb update which is becoming an almost daily event now. Complete joke when the game was working for me. When i am lucky to get time to play I can't because the farce that is Steam is forcing the update upon me and not letting me choose when I can update. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM STEAM AGAIN, well done for losing yet another customer :) Idiots.

Put Steam into "Offline Mode" then launch Stalker 2 from the .exe

Note: Achievements will be disabled and also "Time Played"
