We need flashlight and muzzle flash shadows!
How can it be, that we dont have flashlight and muzzle flash shadows in Stalker 2?
Even in 2024 the flashlight and muzzle flash shadows of stalker 1 look quite impressive.

Heck even Doom 3!!! had this stuff, while a Unreal Engine 5.1 game doesnt.

Here is a comparison how it looked in stalker 1 vs stalker 2.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubJzfVtQBMw&t=369s

Look from 4:21-6:05

It´s a shame that its not in stalker 2, because it actually is quite important.
I am currently trying on my second run at night to get into the sphere, and its horrible to play stalker 2 at night!

Your flashlight is literally the worst flashlight one can imagine, and enemys when they are firing back at you at pitch black night, you just cant see them.

There muzzle flash is so tiny, that it makes no fun at all to roam the world at night.
And in stalker 2 you are easily 30-35 percent roaming around at night.

The guy from the video asked the dev´s why they did not implement flashlight and muzzle flash shadows, there respond was "It was a design decision" like...you decided to look extra dull and ugly on purpose?

That's good, but why isn't it provided by the devs itself? If you don't need it you should/could turn it off for performance. and what about muzzle flash light and shadow? For me this is a total downer ingame!

I don't think it's a question of passion and to be honest modders will always mod. I'm happy they allow for it.

Thats a good point!

Yep muzzle flash light is super important for the atmoshpere overall.
I mean side by side with stalker 1 it kicks stalker 2 straight outa the water, when its about atmosphere in gunfights and at night.

I totally agree with you too! In my opinion, this has to be present, especially in the case of gun battles at night. I think it's sad that this isn't available.

Absolutly, didnt even expect to put a thought in it, because i expected it to be present in a Unreal Engine 5 titel.
The rest of the lighting system of UE-5, actually looks quite good, except those wierd sun ray artifacts in the windows.

true true, I hope it will be implemented into the game. Until now you have to hope that the modders will include it! :D
