Stalker 2 .... any good? SOLVED; many thanks

I've played all the other Stalker games; I loved them ! Such good immersion and a great balance of difficulty vs. reward. In a way, they became sort of cultish.... everybody wanted to be a Stalker in RL, lol ! The whole vibe was just so good for gameplay.

Does this current version live up to the previous releases in the series? I can already see that it has other companies involved with its creation. Is it all watered down and commercialised for sales or does it still hold up to the previous releases?

P.S. I remember the days of Misery..... loved it !

As far as I can tell, the only people that like Stalker 2 didn't play the original games.

Nice one. It's on my watch list but a person needs to be so careful these days since it's become the norm to sell us all buggy unfinished crap on the strength of players love for previous versions. Thanks for your reply.

I did, and I do like this game too. However its a bit to buggy now. The first patch came out yesterday and that helped for FPS drops to stop for me but I am not going to play much until at least the next patch come out.
The Stalker feeling is there for sure. But the A-Life isnt working yet. But Im confident that they will fix it over time.

Great reply, thanks. I'm going to hold back on purchase right now but, once I see a few more patches and a few less negative complaints in the chat.... then I'll buy it. Cannot wait to get stuck in. I hope there's some mods to make it more "painful" but it's early days yet.

I'm playing Stalker games and mods since they exist, as well as loving the books and the movie. And Stalker 2 is awesome.
