Repair costs still way too high after patch.
At the junkyard Technician specifically his repair prices are still extortionate (not sure on others) Gear at 80-90% and spent 6000 repairing the assault rifle, shotgun and one armour. Just feels like an unnecessary barrier and poor artificial difficulty due to the already abundant options for weapons scattered around the map aswell as the fact that you end up with some of the best gear early on through exploration and missions. Would rather it cost purely in the hundreds to repair guns and low thousands for armour. or even consumable repair kits that can be bought or found. Personally... just not have gear break at all, tiresome antiquated game mechanic, just my personal opinion, unwelcome as it is.

Still cant sell broken weapons either, you may aswell just have them disappear after they hit red condition, too expensive to repair and pointless to hold onto since again you find better weapons through missions and certain areas.

A certain vendor buys red weapons, and 6000 for a rifle, shotgun and armor is dirt cheap.

How does it feel to be a clown? I'm late game now and I'm spending a minimum of 50k coupons just on repairing an exo suit (before the patch), but I'm not complaining because making money isn't actually difficult, you just don't know how to.

Too many people complaining about mechanics and balancing when the real issue is them not knowing how to play the game. If you're that tired of the mechanic go download a mod that changes it instead of complaining

He is free to complain, you are not the one to tell him what to do.

Yeah before the patch, I had the Tourist armor and needed some serious repairs
It was like, i forget exactly, like 40k or something to repair, just shy of red
Now with the patch it was just 13k or so WAY cheaper. SO yeah patch done good, and weapons so much easier to repair to keep running smooth. Couple hundred of Im keeping on top of it. Before hand was THOUSANDS to repair just a little
Dang

Where did I tell him what to do? I gave a suggestion that would solve his complaint, whether he does so is entirely up to him.

And it's one thing to have one post about this, but he is one of thousands repeating the same ♥♥♥♥ that ends up burying the few unique and constructive discussions about the game. The best solution for most of these people would be to read a guide and learn the game instead of posting.

If it bothers you that much, there's a mod that makes the repairs super cheap.
Nite69 Nov 29, 2024 @ 8:40pm
if repair costs are too high then you are either one not putting the effort into artifact hunting to sell them and get more money or 2 you are waiting too long bewteen repairs, You should repair them after every mission, I've not had any issue keeping up on repairs

I dont mind the repair costs. Ive never run into the issue of being unable to repair a weapon but if i ever have a weapon i cant repair, then whatever, i've stored a bunch in my stash anyways.....and if the weapon is a downgrade from the one i cant fix up then too bad, thats the way it goes sometimes.

Don't repair costs scale up the more broken it is, but not in a linear way?

So if you repair a weapon a 5% damage, then 5% again later, it's cheaper than if you waited for it to be at 10% total damage?

i just top up the repairs on all my gear every time I make a trip back to sell stuff and it's still expensive, but it's never been completely draining or unaffordable.

I believe that is indeed how it works, but it's important to remember that upgrades impact repair cost (patch may have changed this though).

And that's how you're meant to do it, after every excursion you return to a technician and repair everything, instead of letting your stuff get destroyed before getting it fixed.

If I had fallout size inventory it wouldnt be a problem making money. I was out farming an area and I dropped like 40 things just right on the ground. I havent logged back in since.

You can upgrade your weapons and armor so they are more resistant to wear. I use the silenced pistol a lot to spare my other weapons. It wears very slowly and is quite deadly especially when you use AP ammo.
