Went to the snork cave main mission and I get 5 FPS a second, I literally can't play this game no more lmao

Great.

It's a lot better but, yeah, still has issues. It's a start though.

I have an Intel core i9 13900K - RTX 4090 (on high) - SSD 4T - 64 GB and before the patch, I was using 3840 x 2160,

I lowered the amount of cores to get past the compiling of the shaders.

I played 46 hours and had only 1 or 2 crashes.

After the patch, I could only play a few minutes, before a crash happened.

Now I play, without crashes, using 2560 x 1440, which is actually the resolution, which was chosen by the installing system.

Hopefully, the next patch will solve this.

HOW TO LOWER CORES

Doing the same thing, I was able to play dead space (2008) --- dead space 2 --- far cry 3.

No patch needed. Very easy to do and to reverse.

1) In start menu type msconfig or system configuration.

2) Select the Boot tab

3) Select advanced options

4) Check the small square box (number of processors) and fill in 8.

5) OK --- Apply

6) Restart Windows

To reverse --- Uncheck the small square box --- OK --Apply --- Restart Windows.

According to Vlad(54rus)

Changing boot settings is the old method. There's a new, better one involving using MIcrosoft's Compatibility Administrator tool: https://steamcommunity.com/app/256290/discussions/0/3825289852129186055/
(posted on Child of Light forums but also applicable to Dead Space games).

I have an old PC with a 1080ti card in it and even on the lowest settings I can use I'm barely getting 30 frames for some reason. In town it's dropping to 10-15 fps. I've checked my specs and I meet the recommended system requirements and it's still running this badly.

I've played plenty of games with higher requirements than this one and never had performance this bad.

ur lying and u know it!not 1 ue5 game runs good on a gtx card, that is literally impossible!ue5 and its features are much too complicated for gtx cards,u need an rtx 4070super and ur pc will be a beast once more!

Yeah, no. I've had this PC for like 6 years and It's always run just fine. Maybe not max settings, had to do medium/high for the past couple years but this is the first game I've ever had to use low on and it still not manage 60 frames.

Same here. Started a new game and now this. Performance was fine prior to the patch.

dont get me wrong, the 1080 ti was the goat back in its day but there is absolutely no way it can run any ue5 game at a steady 60fps and look better than stalker 2.thats frankly impossible since stalker even has small pebbles being rendered at full hd.the 1000 series of graphic cards have literally become useless in modern ue5 games...ark ascended, stalker, day of dragons, alan wake, tomb raider etc...none of those will run good on a 1080 unless u lower graphics heavily.i had a gtx 1070ti upon a year ago and it ran everything fine yet once i upgraded to an rtx 4070 super my fps literally doubled in graphic intensive games and its also the 70 so midtier...the underlying technology has changed wildly which is why gtx cards have become obsolete nowadays.
