Hard crash whenever I walk into an anomaly.

But only the one that jump boosts you, or the distorted air ones that just go "whoosh" when you walk into them and do some damage (the gravity ones with the swirly leaves are fine). My entire game locks up and freezes, the game won't close, my monitor resolution changes to 640p, and the only fix is to entirely restart my PC. Anyone know why these two anomalies would be crashing my computer? At first I just played while being super careful to dodge them entirely, they one shot you in ANOMALY/GAMMA afterall, but there's a difference between having to reload a save, and having to restart my entire computer, not a soft restart either, I have to unplug it from the wall to get it turn off, which can't be good for it. I was also hoping this recent patch would fix it, and it did not.

My game now rarely crashes after patch 1.0.3 with exception of some gravitational anomalies, the vortex or whatever is the name for those that pull you in and stretch you. This also does not happen with every anomaly of this type. I got this crash on main mission when you are looking for Strelok in Red Forest and had to explore gravitational anomaly to search some dead bodies. My game 100% crashed whenever I got pulled in by the vortex no matter what. I'm now in Pripyat and can walk into the vortex just fine.

It only seemed to happen when being thrown around by any gravitational anomaly but it was specifically in the "Ribs" in the Lesser Zone area and the "Death Cave" in Cordon. I didn't try any other areas but it probably would've crashed there too but what fixed it for me (at least for now) was to change display from fullscreen (exclusive) to fullscreen (borderless).

After changing this I was able to take my time and complete the Death Cave without any issues and there were no crashes with the gravitational anomalies at The Ribs location either. I've switched it back to fullscreen (exclusive) since then but haven't hit a gravitational anomaly yet but I hope this gets fixed in the next patch!

I was having this same issue as well. All I did to fix it was change my frame rate limit from "no limit" to 60 and that fixed it.

I found this thread via google...but I also was having issues, have like 80 hours i've explored nearly every inch of the map, no crashes and I was following main story and got to where they send you in sewer at duga to disable it etc and every anomaly along the way instant grey stuck screen, game freezes and i have to either close game or wait for the game crash message to pop up.

So strange i've ran into so many anomalies all over map, I even made it through all of the sircca portal nonsense that so many were hardlocked on, but now these are blocking me. I thought it was my mods i just added a few, but no other changes.

So i am going to take other people's advice, and just use ghost command command console to bypass them entirely, till i get out of there because 3 different crashes now and its annoying. There's a lot of areas in this game where it was obvious they didnt fully test or script right so its a roll of the dice if you crash or not. I guess this is one of those. so weird.

its seems its just like the 3 anomalies in the underground during that mission. literally when i came up out of there i ran into another anomaly and didnt crash. so i guess its just those 3-4 specfic ones down there that were crashing me. I am on pc, so i used ghost command to skirt around them. finished mission no problem after that. no crashes since.
