Stalker 2 is a big wake up call.
Say what you want, but Stalker 2 is objectively unfinished, which is now an EXTREMELY common occurrence in the gaming industry. Release now, fix later. I was beyond hyped for this and expected GSC to produce an exceptional product considering the previous entries. I even purchased the ultimate edition. Instead, I got an unfinished, poorly optimized mess that is now in WORSE shape after this magical patch dropped.

Worst of all, this mess is "mostly positive" on Steam, which is a laughable and gross misinterpretation of the TRUE state of it right now.

I have no doubts it will be an amazing game one day, but it should have been that way day ONE. Any grown adults here can attest to a time when video games launched working as intended day ONE. I will bet any amount of dollars it will be YEARS before the game is officially "finished", just like CP2077.

Yeah, we get it. "muh hardships". That's fine and we all sympathize, but DON'T release it if it's not done yet. Simple as. It's not fair for you to give me a broken product because you have a harsh development cycle.

Yeah, the game isn't AWFUL. There's a lot of good here, but it isn't done either and anyone saying otherwise is huffing immense amounts of copium. Modern gamers are so STARVED for content that anything slightly good or "good enough" is considered to be "great."

Have some standards and get serious about this game. That's the only way we make gaming great again.

Define unfinished.

It's unoptimazed.
Very different thing.

Name a game that launched fully optimazed in the last 5 years.
Maybe BG3, though it doesn' t have to deal with photo realistic graphics.

Game isawesome if you can run it.
Unfortunately when you have to deal with millions of different PC configurations, it's dufficult to optimize it before launch.
Be patient.

Be careful when buying products from developers that got bombed out of their country /s
Ka'auwaii Nov 29, 2024 @ 10:19am
You didn't play the original trilogy around their release, did you?

Also it HELPS your point come ACROSS BETTER if you DON'T randomly DECIDE to capitalize words no matter HOW important they ARE TO your point.

Unless this is just a Donald Trump joke

It's definitely not unfinished. Maybe rushed through QA a bit but that's it

Good job proving you're part of the problem. Furthermore your restriction on games that launched in the last 5 years is rather telling, shows that you KNOW the problem is a new one but are engaging in bad faith anyways.

un·fin·ished
/ˌənˈfiniSHt/
adjective
not finished or concluded; incomplete.

So when the devs themselves even say they're still working on things like A-life, a core fundamental feature of the game, that objectively means it is unfinished.

Your logic is strange. By asking this question, it implies that because many titles have done the same, somehow it makes it okay? This is my point. It's a trend in the gaming industry that NEEDS to go. I am tired of paying full price for an unfinished product and even more tired of people defending the practice.

Many years ago, all major titles launched in a finished state. What has happened?

I know you don't want to hear it - but the game ran fine for my close-to-ancient CPU (i7-9700k). I've a barebones W10 with no bloatware installed for this gaming rig and slapped a 4070ti super into it. And it gives me no trouble - even with "unoptimized" games like this.

So far I got more then 50 hours of enjoyment out of this game, and I'm running the game in 4K UHD with most settings on epic (only reduced hair stuff).

If you want a serious discussion I suggest stopping calling everybody not sharing your exteme oppinion "having no standards" or whatever insult you guys come up with these days. I'm playing games for over 2 decades now and had my fair share of game releases, including disastrous once. This is neither a new development nor is Stalker some special outstanding example here.

Big publishers like (Electronic Arts, Ubisoft) were crap back then and are still today. Those are the parts of the big bad industry gamers should concentrate on. But no, instead there is infighting all the while the real crap is raking in the money like no tomorrow.

"The original trilogy was broken at launch too, so that makes it okay that this one is too!"

Strange cope.

Game works fine for me. I'd like to see Alife 2.0 tweaked to be more immersive but other than that I have no complaints.
NHwu36 Nov 29, 2024 @ 10:24am
here come people to insult you because they disagree with your thoughts/opinions.

I feel the exact way I wanted this game to have a great launch why else would I be upset its not there right now?
Its clearly Early Access without a doubt in my mind but I dont want to name them all just look at their recent patch that explains a lot of it & thats not even touching the fact whole features missing & optimization problems.
