What does the gear icon mean
What does the gear icon next to a weapon mean it is not explained anywhere in the PDA and I cannot find any info on it otherwise.

It indicates that the item has some kind of upgrade (or special effect) installed.

Mh ok I already had that impression, but when I compare the stats to another weapon the stats appear to be the same... but alright
