Has everyone in the Rookie village disappeared for anyone else?

After the Oasis quest everyone in the rookie village is just gone, anyone else having this issue? I can't turn my quests in to Sidorovich because he's gone.

For me it happened later in the game when I entered Pripyat. I'm back in the cordon and no one is there.

Same quest as this, and everyone has vanished. They vanished *after* I had turned it in, and I went to check out the military checkpoint. Come back to repair my gear, and Multitool & Wolf are gone... Sidor's gone too

As far as I am understanding it. Once you progress to a certain point, you need to start defending locations from attacks, and if you don't they all die.

I don't know, not there yet. Just seen posts in passing describing one second "Help us we're being attacked. "Thanks for the help, come back any time!" and then 5 seconds later "all is lost, we were overrun" notification.

That's only Zalissya, I failed that one automatically because all npc's, monolith and stalkers, were stuck in the big building with the doors locked, and no one was fighting and I couldn't shoot anyone.

I actually just beat the game shortly after everyone in the rookie village disappeared for me so I guess it doesn't matter much but I wish I knew where they went and why, hope the patch is out soon.

Happened to me as well, from what i've been experiencing it may have something to do with the side quest "Busting Myths" That you get after the oasis storyline quest. I just never talked with sidorovich about the sidequest and he remained there. However, after talking with him and completing the quest after some time everyone is just gone. No traders, guides, mechanics, everything. Reloaded the save, played the game as normal up until the final no turning back "Down below". Did the same thing again, talked to sidorovich, decided to artifact hunt and after a bit everyone's gone.
