Are enemies aware of flashlights?
I was walking through a dark warehouse and noticed the npc enemies didn't react to my flashlight, even though they were standing in the dark, and only my light was on. Are enemies not aware of flashlights? I assumed they could spot me more easily, but, maybe not???

I don't think they are affected by the flashlight at all: there was an enemy in complete dark about 10/15 meters from me and i was able to take it down from behind with a knife while illuminating the area the whole time, no f%cks given at all :steamsad:

increases chance of detection, yes

They seem to react to noise more. I found out you can use bolts not just for anomalies but also to distract enemies

Might be a range thing? Depends on how they did stealth or stealth works in ue5.

Yeah a shame that enemies still don't react to the flashlight...

Stealth is straight up 100% broken. I have seen people say things like "Stealth works its just not very forgiving you just have to git gud" but its false. Enemies can detect you through walls even if you arent making any noise. They can detect you from a ridiculous distance even if you are behind cover and not moving.

The definitely do but the problem with leaving it off is that they can still see much farther than you can in the dark. Like you walk in with no lights and they still light you up from distance in pitch blackness. So you are better off just walking around with the dumb light on broadcasting your position because these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ can see in the dark.

It's on the files. Lights make you 100% visible to enemies.

But visibility is broken on the game, so... I doesn't matter that much for now.
Thank you guys for the information. Praying to the patch gods for an update.

tried this once had them all do a 180 directly towards me spotting me instantly instead of looking at where i threw the bolt

One of the legendary artifacts has a description in the game that says it helps mask your smell to avoid detection.
Perhaps those enemies were smelling you through cover.
