question about roaming the zone freely

is it safe to roam the zone with out progressing the main quest? right now im on *search for a guide* in zaton, but i really wanna get to rostok, is it safe? wont it bug out anything?

only bug during free roam so far was a corpse with a key that glitched inside the ground. However later story missions can break a few things it seems ( sciencebunker doors not opening for a lot of people for example)

yes. this is the point of the game that many people miss. going main quest for too long you'll hit a concrete wall. go explore West area of zone, get yo gear up, etc.

Unlike first stalker games, many things in this game are not locked behind events or borders. Like stashes in the world, you can find them even without PDAs, just stumble upon them. The thing is that some of the good stashes are so well hidden that sometimes you need to climb into such places where normally you wouldn't think of

You seem to be able to explore where you want once you get the mission to leave lesser zone, I tested cordon area, wild island area, and part of zaton area so far, to get to wild island and zaton thier is a very thin section of swamp grass you can walk across to get across the water

This actually seems to be the best way to play atm, ignore the main quest and just have fun in the Zone. The most annoying bugs i've found so far have been with the main story quests (cut scenes not loading and being locked out of areas etc).
