80% Positive Reviews... Really?
How does this game get 80% positive reviews with the current optimization issues, outright unstable engine with memory leaks and softlocking bugs that prevent completion of the main story without dev tools?

I don't understand. I ask genuinely, because as a Stalker fan I bought this game in Ultimate Edition and I really genuinely don't understand where 80% positive reviews come from. If this was a Bethesda game and they released a broken mess like this, the game would be downvoted to oblivion in a matter of hours.

If the game was marked as Early access - Early Beta and they charged maybe 30 bucks (or more for supporters, whatever), I could understand the review scores. But now? Full release? in this state? Come on.

Well guys, I banned the OP for political provocations on this very thread.

If you don't like the game as it is right now, that's OK and you can say it freely on the forum. I hope to see you happier with the Zone later.

But this thread turned into offtopic, political provocations and even threats. I'm closing it.

Completly uselss comment ...
I think OP has a pretty good and objectively written thread ...

Just browse around the forum, people can't even progress ingame, because of softlocking bugs ....

Can you even read? I'm not a hater at all. If anything, I'm flat disappointed. Of course I'm a little salty, but it's because contrary to a lot of others, I deeply care about Stalker as a franchise. Some people will actually come and defend this broken mess as if their life depended on it, and in 3 months tops they will forget about the game and move on to other things. But no me. And not many others. We've been there for years and we'll still be. Except, maybe not on Stalker 2, at least not for now.
The game has managed to completely alienate a whole part of its playerbase with asinine and weird gameplay design decisions. I feel like I'm legitimate to call GSC out for that, at the very least.

The main thing I fear that developers themselves will become calm because of the high percentage of positive reviews and will not working to extensively bring the game to mind. The game is good, but most of its strengths come from our nostalgia for past games in the serie. If the developers consciously made strange decisions thinking that it would all be written off our nostalgia, it’s very annoying.

A-Live 2.0 is not only not working its just a scam at least right now. Right now the game feels more like an early access title and i had rather waited another year. Would rate it 5/10 at this state but could go up to 7/10 or even 8/10 if they fix the mayor game desgin issues.

Another valid point, there is a lot missing especially to do with the A-Life 2.0 but I wouldn't go as far to say it's a scam.. tho it did drop very late with the info that it wasn't going to make the release so no argument there.

I don't personally feel that it's playing like an early access tho, it does work just missing some very major parts that a fan could say What the Actual

I'm glad it was launched because I don't believe the A-Life 2.0 will be ready in a year, just the same as all these others riding the A.I bubble.

We have the Zone and a great single player story, plus we have a studio that actually lets the users play around with the code and that's where some good stuff is gunna happen

Short answer - people will look past bugs if the game itself is good. See: previous Stalker games, The Elder Scrolls games, Falloult: NV, etc.
Because most people can see the good in the game and there is a lit to love

That said these people usually dont blindly love the game, they know there is a lot to be fixed

One thing I can tell you is that contrary to a lot of people, when I care about a game and want to see it succeed, I'm not afraid to leave a negative review. Because if you think you're helping the devs and supporting the game through positive lenient reviews when in actual fact developers need a kick in the ass to realize that it's not it and fans expect more and better from the game, then you're dead wrong.

Because the game itself is 10/10

Just broken

what? it requires a lot of efforts to make game that triggers our nostalgia. and somehow you say this is not because of work done by devs

I did not said I left a positive review now. The game doesn't work on my PC because have a huge optimization problems. That's why I'm keeping the review negative for now, because the game simply doesn't let me play it.

What is your foundation to give the game 10/10 ?

And saying "just broken" is like:

Putin is a 10/10 but hes on his periods ....
Exactly. Some people are just capable of writting paradoxal stuff like this without even thinking twice about it.

Yeah I wasn't talking about you specifically, that was just the way I formulated the thing. When I said "you're dead wrong", I wasn't talking about you but in general.

They think modders makes the games and devs just advertises demos.
Mundgodt Nov 28, 2024 @ 2:44am
Yes and its only going up from here :) and its well deserved.
Its getting positive reviews because the game is really really good, despite the current issues which obviously will be resolved

Why are you twisting the wording? The developers have done work in different areas. And I noted that in the areas that working on the nostalgic feelings of gamers - the developers have done a very good job. But in the some things - they have done a bad job. Optimization, simulation of the liveliness of the world, balance - all of these are very large parts of the game and there are problems with them. So yes, now most of the positive reviews are left by people who were inspired by the prologue and the realization of the thought that they "finally launched STALKER 2!!!"
