80% Positive Reviews... Really?
How does this game get 80% positive reviews with the current optimization issues, outright unstable engine with memory leaks and softlocking bugs that prevent completion of the main story without dev tools?

I don't understand. I ask genuinely, because as a Stalker fan I bought this game in Ultimate Edition and I really genuinely don't understand where 80% positive reviews come from. If this was a Bethesda game and they released a broken mess like this, the game would be downvoted to oblivion in a matter of hours.

If the game was marked as Early access - Early Beta and they charged maybe 30 bucks (or more for supporters, whatever), I could understand the review scores. But now? Full release? in this state? Come on.

Well guys, I banned the OP for political provocations on this very thread.

If you don't like the game as it is right now, that's OK and you can say it freely on the forum. I hope to see you happier with the Zone later.

But this thread turned into offtopic, political provocations and even threats. I'm closing it.

80% and going up, mind you. Before even the first hotfix addressing the most critical stuff has been released.

Absolutely. The game is GOTY you can vote for it right now on the store page!

Because it's fun no matter the issues

Maybe because despite technical issues the game is *actually* good? I read top reviews and people fairly point those one out. I finished my first run and despite it's issues - had an absolute blast.

Even with the problems, it's the best game

You know what, I WISH this game could be GOTY. But there's no way in hell. That ship has sailed the moment I realized we are YEARS from a stable and complete product.

yeAH, i give it that, AFTER THE PATCH.

Game is broken and cannot progress the main quest right now. Zalyssa dead with ghost "fight" sounds, prof is behind a door which is not opening.... everything is bugged after Ziirca.

I guess because the community got used to lower standards ...
For me personally this game is not good at all. Especially for the price tag.

Who cares about reviews anyway
Grimtasy Nov 28, 2024 @ 1:42am
Gamers standards have sunk so low. People have the right to enjoy the game, all broken that it is currently, but come on now.
Some people leaving positive reviews must have 30 different layers of rose tinted nostalgia glasses when playing this, to not be able to see the sorry state of the game and how cooked it is.
Don't get me wrong, I had my fun in the game, and some of the story stuff put a smile on my face. But I'm not delusional either. This game is profundly broken and it's gonna take months if not years of patching to put it in a decent state.
Multiplayer by the way? Forget it for now. Game too unstable. It's pretty much cyberpunked.

I call that fake reviews, today we can't even believe in steam reviews anymore, thats crazy
HiggsLP Nov 28, 2024 @ 1:47am
Bc the unoptimization is user issue/intel crashes. Old AMD drivers, 0 crahses 30h. Runs 80fps on Epic@1440 tsr 100%(native reso)
The atmosphere and story trumps AI issues.
So yes its 8/10game, with AI fix it would be 10/10 for sure.
Game is good but rarely optimization problem hits me but when i restart the game problem disappears.

Grimtasy, after almost 60 hours of play and only two crashes that have sent off bug reports this game is better most other games I've played in the last 2 years and I'm not trying to spin positives.. it just works for me and when it has an issue I can pick it and just save and exit back to steam and restart, everything is fixed (apart from one optional mission where the door will not unlock but no big deal, will pick that up second play through)

I'm unhappy that there's so many gamers out there having issues as I don't have those but can understand the frustration when you can't play it how it should be. Hopefully the incoming patch will fix any and all issues for those that aren't happy with the performance. I've tried helping others out with suggestions on this or that and usually those threads get no replies after so hope that the suggestions helped.

It works absolutely perfect for me and I've got a 5 year old setup with a 4070TI Super running on a M.2 and it just works. This leads me to the topic heading, 80 percent of gamers aren't having the issues it must mean. This game is way beyond any new Bethesda title, It's Intelligent and very well thought out. Between Half Life and now there's only been a handful of games that are produced with skill and Stalker 2 imho has just taken out the #1 Spot

Hope that the incoming patch fixes any issues you are having Grimstay so you can enjoy this masterpiece
