RTX 4090 FRAME GENERATION IS THE STUTTERING CAUSE DISABLE NOW !
10 hours of continuous slowdowns with a fluctuating frametime and fps that go from 120 to 40
I wasted hours downloading mods and editing ini files. but the real problem is enabling the frame generator of both Nvidia and AMD
By deactivating it the game runs at 55-65 fps but the frametime is stable and the game stops stuttering.
It's terrible that the game comes with Nvidia GPUs as a gift and there is an official driver and no one has noticed these problems.
It's the implementation of frame generation that causes the stuttering.

Aint no way im running a 3080TI @ 1440p and having better FPS than a 4090 lol.

I get 60-80 with no AMD FSR, 120-144 with AMD FSR.

i capped the game to 60fps and used Lossless Scaling x2 and the game runs amazing butter smooth in 120fps without stutter.

You dont, so theres that.

Resolution is not mentioned, settings is not mentioned, etc.

A 3080 can crush a 4090 if one runs in 1080p at low settings, and the 4090 runs at 4k ultra.

See how this works kid? And these are just the basics, alot more to it than that, people just never specify their hardware and settings, and then people who font understand how PCs and gaming works join in.

Hey kid, that was my point. Read... The... Post...
I have much better FPS than they are claiming and they have better hardware. By all accounts, they should be eating this game alive if a 3080TI can.

I've also narrowed down the stuttering and framedrops to nvidia framegen and DLSS it runs good for a short while then falls off a cliff - just disabling it now, until they can fix it, makes for a much better gaming experience.

What settings are you running? You got the game ready driver from nvidia i guess? I suggest to use the new nvidia app to install them.

Got an Asus TUF RTX4080 Super and a Ryzen 9 7900X3D with 64 GB 6000MHZ, Samsung 990 Pro SSD and it works just fine. Everything on Epic @ 1440p and DLSS on Quality thats it.

Capped my framerate at 60 via Nvidia control panel and it seems to have mitigated a lot of the performance issue I was seeing, even in villages and cutscenes.

Other settings are vsync on, Nvidia Reflex Low Latency on, DLSS quality and FSR3 frame generation on. 2560x1440, all settings on Epic.

Also if using FG (Frame generation) make sure to turn on Nvidia Reflex Low Latency.

Not sure but I also remember reading here somewhere that DLSS frame generation is possibly broken.

Had been using Lossless Scaling on top of the game's upscaling and fg settings for even better performance, solid 144fps with next to 0 latency (with the right settings). Eventually found it to be overkill though, just using the in-game stuff now. Was already getting above 100fps for the most part without the 60 cap.

(specs: R7 3800X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, RTX 3080 non-TI 10GB)

Now go to a town with NPCs, 120fps while static in an open field is hardly a benchmark. The towns and enemies are causing framedrops and lag, Digital Foundry already proved that.

True in crowded places its more like 90ish but i'm not having that huge of a dip in fps like op described it.
