You be you, play how you want, but you do know that most of the mods you use make this not a Stalker game? :)
I only used dynamic weather myself for more immersion but its broken, some weather are unrealistic or break the skybox .
Also beware - longer days mods break some events and quests
As this is my first STALKER game I dont know what that means. You mean super tanky
bullet sponge enemies, scarce loot and crappy economy? Yeah I'm not into that. That's not "fun" to me.
I'm a Mod fanatic. If a game allows Modding I'll mod the sh*t out of it and see what I like.
Many times I dial the mods back if it makes things too easy, but I rarely play anything Vanilla.
Is that confirmed or just an assumption?
If so, which ones?
I really hate how fast the day/night cycle is in Vanilla.
Devs always make the day/night too short in games.
I said compatible and no conflicts "so far". :D
STALKER 2 is a very buggy and broken game already.
I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best that it doesnt b0rk something down the line. I'm still in the Lesser Zone exploring.
It's a risk you take when Modding.
They/Them always are
KennymyLennys's Ledge Grabbing (Mantling in the base game is just inconsistent)
A-Life Extended (Events are just broken right now)
I'm also thinking on adding the:
Reduced Repair Cost (It's becoming unmanageable when you advance in the game. At this point, it's better to throw your weapons away instead of repairing it. I've never seen a game where it's better to not upgrade your weapon lol).
Been doing this for God knows how long with many games, so i'll rather wait some time.
Unless there is a mod that fixes opening doors to talk to Lodochko after SIRCAA, i ain't installing it. :p
- what armor you and enemies are wearing
- bullet drop off
- bullet damage drop off with distance (a bit adjusted since this is not ARMA distance combat)
- flatness of shot direction
- types of ammo for different calibers (flat, AP etc)
Thats how this game does progression -> better guns, better ammo, better armors. You are meant to feel weak in the beginning and the feel how Stalker does its "RPG like" progression and then feel almost unstoppable with late game equipment.
Stalker 2 has some problems with this though:
- humans are fine on Stalker difficulty, you can feel difference in armor enemies are wearing, but Veteran gives you 25% less damage, it should only make you more squishy, same as enemies so for example you take 100% damage on veteran, less on stalker etc.
- mutant health pool is too high, thats true for sure, also I think something is broken with spawning -> You shouldnt have tough enemies like bloodsucker spawn so much in starting zones, I also almost never encountered any mutants (apart from scipted ones in missions) in Garbage region, so definitly there is something wrong here
Other than that combat is fine for me apart from largest bushes not blocking line of sight - this needs fixing.
Of course play how you want but imo you are missing out on almost everything that makes this series special (same with low amount of ammo - you are meant to feel lack of resources, they need to rebalance that too with too much medkits etc) ;) Maybe do vanilla playthrough at some point, especially when they will balance things correctly, I highly recommend it.
I'm still just messing around in the starting zone, to learn the game mechanics, and I intend to start a new game whenever the first patch is released, so I could experiment with a few mods with no harm done.
I want a mod that will let me reload or heal while sprinting, but don't see any so far. Currently without sprint-reload-heal, and dealing with a large group of enemies, I either have to switch weapons if run out of ammo, or start running and chug an energy drink. Then once I have distance on the enemies I turn around and fire from a distance. I don't want to have to do these run-back-shoot tactics the entire game.
The enemy AI can laser you in pitchblack without even turning on theyr flashlight.
Doesn't look much mislim to me, but if you shoot an NPC with an non silenced weapon, no ones gives a ♥♥♥♥ and they still stand where they are like nothing happens.
