do artifact spawns actually reset after some in game time?
swear to god, found another artifact while roaming around in the exact same place, is this actually a game mechanic? i know i'm not tripping, first one was physical def and endurance, second one was weight, found them in the exact same location

Artifacts have a chance to respawn after every emission

Every emission they respawn

I think emissions have a chance to spawn new artefacts

Artifacts usually spawn in a certain type of anomalous field. Some artifacts only spawn near toxic pools, others only near fire pits. They do respawn after some time (traditionally after emissions, but dunno if Stalker 2 kept that mechanic or not), though I have no idea how much time that is. They will roam the anomalous area, and can only be revealed by a detector.

So do these emissions actually have some hardware effect like the blood moons in the Zelda games do where it clears the cache and clutter?

Yes, they do respawn, just go through other fields in the mean time, the map's gigantic and has dozens of different ones.

Well, in original games they would sometime cook stalkers and turn them into zombies, but their main mechanics would be to regenerate artifacts into anomalous fields. This is why sometimes in previous games, it was a good idea to sleep a few days and then raid every anomalous zones in a map.

Yes, you go artifact hunting near anomalies. It's one of the gameplay loop to make money, the other one is kill and sell loot or missions

Areas on your map with a bunch of anomalies around, usually marked by a POI, if you pick up an Artifact there, then an emission happens, it will respawn, at around 50-100m away from it, it will spawn a random artifact of a given type appropriate to that anomaly (anomalies with fire will have something with burn resistance most likely, the quality of it will vary, not sure what affects it or if its just random chance to get something common, uncommon, legendary, etc.)

Previously. I thought they would only have a chance to spawn after emissions, but I've seen them respawn in a relatively short amount of time and without an emission happening. It appears random because checking two places I had recently been, only one had respawned.

I suspect it may be a chance to respawn over time, but it's possible they have a chance to respawn simply from leaving the area, whatever that area happens to be whether it's distance based or a zone of the map.

It's also possible the areas that I've seen respawn are due to having a mission in the area. Maybe picking up a mission that happened to be in the area of an anomaly field reset the area and spawned an artifact.

Really difficult to tell from just playing the game.

They should respawn after emissions
wallmart security Nov 26, 2024 @ 6:10pm
the fact that game doesn't explain that is ridiculous, this is my first stalker game and i just found out this by pure luck lol

Welcome to the good old days where you had to figure stuff for yourself

idk the one in wild islands has been stuck in a rock for me for several emissions

Artifacts have "types" which affect which anomaly fields they can spawn in. Basically, match the anomaly type to the artifact you're looking for, with some exceptions. Individual, or especially small, fields don't spawn artifacts (I'm talking about the little one-or-two anomaly spots, not large singular anomalies). Any decently sized anomaly field, major or minor, has a chance of spawning an artifact after an emission (or after reloading the game from the main menu). Major anomaly fields, the named visible-on-the-map ones, seem to have a very high spawn rate. As far as I have seen, like the old games, this only applies to fields that do not have an artifact in them already. Those seem to remain until collected. so if you see the 'weak' effect artifacts, grab them so something else can spawn. Oh, and the game has a tutorial page in the PDA, one of the pages on anomalies/emissions/artifacts mentions this information. I'm surprised at the number of people who say this info isn't in-game. Hope this helps.
