An emission is approaching soldiers. Seek shelter immediately.
No not that one.

Not that one either.

That one doesn't count either.

You think you would be safe in that one but there's an open window you can't close.

It's that one... the one you literally can't get inside of. Yup that's your only safe building in a 5 mile radius.

Having fun?

The zone is a dangerous place.

I do wish there were more valid shelters but to be fair, you do get a mission marker pointing out the nearest one to go to so that you don't have to check every building.

Emissions are much more dangerous lore wise this time, not all buildings are safe. Look for buildings with a cellar.
Try to memorize locations if you find some when you are exploring.

Yeah well it pointed to a hanger for me in burnt forest. A hanger that I can literally can't get inside of because the door is barricaded. I've circled it like 10 times. And the hanger right next to it doesn't count either because.... it just doesn't.

This is the second time something like this has happened.

1. That's not true. I've hid in shacks before with broken windows which counted. I don't think I've ever been in a building with a cellar for any of my emissions.

2. How are you suppose to explore new areas? Some parts are guaranteed game over if it comes at a wrong time and you are in a forest.

Wait do the emissions get more dangerous later on or something? I'm only exploring the lesser zone or whatever, and i remember in the previous stalkers you had to hide at the main bases basically, but after a while of standing in the base not being hurt, I started doing my exploration during them, and they seem basically harmless besides some random lightning spots? Or do they get much scarier as you progress

At the point of the game where im sadly hardlocked due to a main quest bug. The emissions wreck your gear and guns and almost insta kill you.

Oh wow, good to know!

I had just gotten done with assisting the raid at some depot in Garbage. Emission started the moment i decided to head back to the Ward facility. Well I ran my butt back to the depot because it did have a singular room that counted as shelter... and this singular Ward NPC was standing in the way of EVERYBODY ELSE in the one man sized doorway. I loaded a quick save because the alternative was to murder every single one of them.

Trust me, it also rekt your gears and guns even before getting late in-game.

I learned that the hard way.

Yeah it's always been like that for me. The areas that count and that areas that don't are incredibly random outside of bases. It's legit like playing Russian Roulette, you don't know if you'll live or die.

This is the area that counted for me, the hanger in the western most part of burnt forest.... no roof and no cellar:

I'm playing on GamePass btw.

I guess they really made emissions weaken than the previous games then, because in those it's a surefire death if you get caught in one outside of using some rare drugs.

The fact that medicine is removed from Stalker 2 is completly absurd. I mean the map is so huge they decide to remove the medicine that would actually help survive a emission ?!

It was only in CoP and it was never needed cause the map was way smaller.
