Chimera question [Potential Spoilers Inside]
You will eventually run into first Chimera, at least for me, when progressing main quest line on the way to Clear Sky base in Swamp.

My question is are you supposed to fight it or just run away from it?

I honestly tried for 20+ minutes, used all my AP ammo I carried (60 slugs for M860, 100 5.45x39mm PP for my Fora-221) and over 15 medkits in a single attempt. I was still not able to kill it and eventually died to an emission that approaches and is scripted to happen

Pretty sure you can't kill it and you're supposed to run to the main objective, cause when you come back it's just gone.

Also, i manage to cheeze it by getting myself into a hole in the house before the one you go through for the main quest, and it was staying like 1m away from me, not moving, and i literally emptied all my shotgun/5.56.39mm ammo IN HIS HEAD and he didn't give a sh*t.

So i'm pretty sure he's invulnerable.

Although if i was you, you should stop the main quest once you're finished with the Clear Sky mission, you escape the swamp, bring the scanner to Scar, then the next mission is to go to the IRZAC, just stop the main quest at the "Go to IRZAC" here until the next patch roll out. Cause everyone, myself included, are bugged after that. Some quest being failed due to bug (Main quest included) so just go around, explore etc ...

First time I encountered it I did kill it, got it stuck in a doorway in a cabin on the way to where you're supposed to go, if you stop to kill it however, you will not make it in time to survive the emission, so you have to run.

You can kill that ♥♥♥♥♥. How?
Run into the nearest house and hide inside around the doors. (Don't stay too close, or the Chimera will hit you.) The Chimera will be stuck or running around the house. You can easily kill it.

But the best way, in my opinion, is just running. So, in STALKER Call of Prypiat, Chimera will hunt you until you kill them. In STALKER 2, you can just escape from them.
Run to the quest marker in a zig-zag trajectory. Turn to 60 degrees every second you run. Doing that, Chimera will not jump on you.

I tried to kill this sucker but it ate through my AP shotgun shells and nades lol. It tooke me like 10+ attempts on Vet to outrun this thing and this was while overweight, chugging as many energy drinks as I could. This was easily the most tense I was in the game with this thing breathing down my neck the entire way lol.

I heard the auto shotty is super good, so I'm not surprised.

You can kill it, but you die from the emission regardless. The way to kill it is to run back to the closest shed and she will lock there (stand still as mobs cant enter buildings), you then headshot her until the end of time and die yourself soon after.

It is, but still, even with a M860 and a Fora, with all the ammo i emptied in his face, i should have been able to kill this prick.

You can kill it - However it's not worth it, you don't get a single thing for it and the emission would probably take you out.
If you run, at least you get an achievement and save all your ammo.

Run away from it to the MSQ objective. You get a steam achievement for it too.

Oh I thought that achievement could only pop if you run from non-story chimeras, I didn't get the achievement when I ran to the cabin :(
