Also, i manage to cheeze it by getting myself into a hole in the house before the one you go through for the main quest, and it was staying like 1m away from me, not moving, and i literally emptied all my shotgun/5.56.39mm ammo IN HIS HEAD and he didn't give a sh*t.
So i'm pretty sure he's invulnerable.
First time I encountered it I did kill it, got it stuck in a doorway in a cabin on the way to where you're supposed to go, if you stop to kill it however, you will not make it in time to survive the emission, so you have to run.
Veteran difficulty ? Cause i'm sure i did the same as you and i didn't managed to kil his *ss lol.
Maybe you had AP ammo (Had PP for my 5.56.39 ammo and Slugs round) and better gun ?
Run into the nearest house and hide inside around the doors. (Don't stay too close, or the Chimera will hit you.) The Chimera will be stuck or running around the house. You can easily kill it.
But the best way, in my opinion, is just running. So, in STALKER Call of Prypiat, Chimera will hunt you until you kill them. In STALKER 2, you can just escape from them.
Run to the quest marker in a zig-zag trajectory. Turn to 60 degrees every second you run. Doing that, Chimera will not jump on you.
Saiga and regular buckshot, Veteran difficulty.
I tried to kill this sucker but it ate through my AP shotgun shells and nades lol. It tooke me like 10+ attempts on Vet to outrun this thing and this was while overweight, chugging as many energy drinks as I could. This was easily the most tense I was in the game with this thing breathing down my neck the entire way lol.
Weird.
I heard the auto shotty is super good, so I'm not surprised.
It is, but still, even with a M860 and a Fora, with all the ammo i emptied in his face, i should have been able to kill this prick.
If you run, at least you get an achievement and save all your ammo.
Oh I thought that achievement could only pop if you run from non-story chimeras, I didn't get the achievement when I ran to the cabin :(
Must be glitched, cause i ran and i didn't get that achievement.
Guess that part was really f*cked on my end lmao.
