red/fire poltergeist

any tips for this thing? fighting the one in burning forest guarding the journalist's stash, and I've just been shooting at the red orb while dodging the non-stop star-explosions. Finally died after about 10 minutes of this.
Mostly, I just can't tell if I'm doing damage, because there's no feedback from it at all. Am I supposed to aim at the red light, or above it like with the normal poltergeists? Is it even possible to kill these things?

I have tried that - shotgun, grenades. Nothing seemed to work. I have no clue either i have simply med myself quickly looted journalist stash and run away. No reason to attemp.

I just figured it out. The red orb is not his body, it's just like an attack turret he spawns. For me, he was hiding underground nearby. He looked like a big patch of flames in the air.

omg thank you, I spent like 30 min trying to kill it to loot stash and in the end just loaded save file before wasting all that ammo and went away

Pyrogeists work much like regular Poltergiests, the trick with them is that the fire attacks they use, look somewhat similar to the effect that hides their body.

long story short, dont shoot the red orbs that are flamethrower-ing you, look around for a red orb thats moving around and trying to hide from you, shoot that one
