If you see a Pseudogiants just leave.
Like holy hell i just had one "bug out" so it stood still. So i took out my M860 shotgun, it took 34 POINT BLANK SHOTS TO THE FACE TO DIE on stalker difficulty!!!!

Now imagine doing that to max difficulty while that ♥♥♥♥ is trying to kill you. Literal waste of time, waste of insane ammo and you get nothing.

Honestly i am not trying to sh1t on the game but it feels sad that some of the mutants are just a pure bullet sponge and that is their entire thing going for them.

*sigh* Can't we have one discussion without someone blaming the other wether "criticism" is not allowed or not?

Pseudogiants are the sturdiest enemy in the whole series. They are not meant to be downed with the CHEAPEST ammo in the zone. You have armor penetration statistics on weapons (and their upgrades) and AP rounds for all weapon types. How about using the tools at your disposal before opening yet another ThE DeVs dIDN'T do ThEiR JoBs.

Seriously - if this would be a new IP - sure, let's discuss wether some enemies are OP. But it's a whole game series - and those guys _NEVER_ were easy IF you faced them with tier 1 or tier 2 equipment.

:steamsad:

This is the correct answer to the OPs issue:

It was the same with the older stalker games. I think a better choice is spamming grenades at it, or shooting it with a sniper.

Or it's entirely possible that the mutants are too OP on launch.
they have armor now, you need to use armor piercing rounds. Slugs work amazing.

34 shots to kill a pseudodog is bad design and a lazy way to scale difficulty, making the players gun do less damage and give the enemies more HP is about the easiest and laziest way to code a difficulty

Ah yes using buckshot on an armored enemy, surely bad game design

Tell me, how many shotgun blasts does it take to kill a psuedogiant in the original trilogy ?

its a dog... they all die relatively quickly on hardest difficulty, in stalker 2 every enemy has this scaling issue

You might need glasses, OP is talking about a Pseudogiant not a Pseudodog

am i stupid that i play on Rookie difficulty ? i guess not ...i need 5+ shotgun hits to kill these mutants....
It also feels so lame that mutants will hide behind a fence or a wall if you climb out of reach like human NPC taking cover until you hit the floor again.

Artificial and super lazy way to inflate the difficulty. This is not behaviour anyone would expect from a pack of dogs, it just looks real bad.

The AI in this game is way worse than COP. Its a tragedy,

I had a human NPC get partially stuck in a wall and become seemingly invulnerable to damage, maybe something similar happened here. I have yet to see one of these though.
Have had spawning NPC showing as enemy, and then can walk up to them, unload the 6 round shot gun in their head point blank with no damage. So something is wrong there especially when they then turn round and kill me with one shot
Use AP ammo, Pseudos have 4 default armor

Mutants are just a waste of time and ammo. Why don't they drop any special loot? so much stuff is missing from the game.

Because the game design is meant to make you feel weak and helpless, not everything in the Zone has to be an asset to be exploited. Stalker does not respond to the consumer logic of other open world games.
By the lore they have 15 centimeters thick skull. It's literally like a train rushing towards you. Makes sense.

Or it's entirely possible that the mutants are too OP on launch.
No it wasnt. I didnt had any problems with the Mutants in SoC and CoP. Here even a Flesh or a Pseudodog act like a Miniboss. Whole Balancing of the Game is whack.

Yup. Can confirm.

♥♥♥♥ gets serious in first underground lab where meet one. They’ve always been a nightmare, glad to hear still are.

My AK took 1.5 Mags to kill a single Bloodsucker while it was standing still. And that was with Armor piercing Ammo.

Fleshes are still pushovers but now with a jump attack

Pseudodogs are now at least fun, well until the moment you realize that the "REAL" one is always a shade darker than the fakes

Wait till you encounter pseudocats

Partially because in COP you can scout them from distance most of the time, and they didn't spawn 50 feet from you...

There was one in the underground and i didnt have to put Mag after Mag after Mag into it to kill it. The State the Game is right now just shows that the Devs didnt test their crap.
