Thought I'd see if it was widespread before all that.

-Some mods: UETools (though not using it), unlimited sprint, weight limit 500kg
-46hrs
-4090 / 5600X

It was fine 20 mins ago, now hanging on load.

Yep I just posted about it. Mine seem to be just the autosaves and Quicksaves, manual saves seem to still load ok. I have no mods. It was working fine an hour ago or so and the game didn't crash when I excited, I had just saved and quit normal.

None.... I've a feeling more people might be about to freak out...

Damn, even my manual saves aren't loading. None of them are. Cripes

I'm verifying game files now and I've removed the mods temporarily too, in case any of this helps. Will update.

Back in - loaded an earlier save - seemed to be a specific point in the chemical plant that caused the hangs.

Also went windowed and changed a few graphics settings - unsure if any of that helped too.

yep first city happend to me.
that one specific save cannot be loadead(it simply crashes the whole game) regardless of graphic or windows settings.
20 min earlier save works fine.

experiencing this is just the beginning, reading a ton of other people also have various issues with their saves its simply not worth to continue playing until they fixed the game.
it basicly can happen at any point regardless if its a quick or manual save.

Haven't had the issue.. yet but I find if you get to a spot where you feel the game is having an issue any issue is to save quit and reload as it seems to get rid of any nastiness that might be lurking in the RAM. Hopefully the Devs have collected enough info and this will be addressed within the next couple of days when the patch drops

If the dude really does have a 4090, there is no way his rig is to blame.

Nope, it has nothing to do with hardware. The devs are not only aware of the issue (via Discord) but were aware of it prior to launch.

The biggest issue I have is that they released this game in such a state knowing very well the plethora of technical, game-play, and performance issues is has. It literally, not figuratively or hyperbolically speaking (eg. broken quests/save corruption), has game breaking bugs that can and will occur, bricking your play-through.

After all of the delays it was likely a case of capital or lack thereof. Still, it makes me wonder if they're up to the task given the obvious lack of technical experience with regards to UE5.

Well, I would take your word for it, but you gave Starfield a thumbs down but played it for 218 hours. So I think you're stuck in this like the rest of us, your hardware is held together with bubblegum and prayer, and you just fancy a good complain

I played it for that long because I was making mods and assisting in mod making for it. I gave it a negative review not because of technical issues or performance hindrance, but due to the fact that it is an objectively mediocre game, period. That said, your attempted straw-man is obvious.

With regards to bugs this is well worth a read and currently has 1.6K upvotes. It details the late-game issues and is just an example of the myriad of problems the game has.

Quick and Auto saves are key. I dont use normal saves. I've run into saves not laoding , A:T f4, load game and kept going back until a save loads then go forwards until saves don't load. Then you know the last save that loaded and go from there. May or may not work but has for me.

Well be the kind stranger and give it an updoot and some gold. Tip your fedora and give a wink to m'lady on Reddit. In the real world, where people just kind of play games and enjoy them, maybe things aren't quite as they appear on your hipster websites
It's great being nice, but if you buy a car and it spends more time in the garage than you driving it...i'm pretty sure you would sing a different tune.
If you google a bit, you would find that the game is riddled with problems. At that point, being nice is a courtacy.
