I'm playing this on xbox, and just unlocked the next region, moved from Lesser Zone to Garbage, of course they need to load the transition area with anomalies, to continue is that damaged road bridge, me without thinking much of it, jumped down into the bit of water to find this game has instant drown no swim mechanics... literally on the ramp to out of the water...
It's just maddening, and ironic because games that have a perm death counter have always made it less fun to play.
And they also always seem to cover the whole account, not playthrough. so a newgame will still have the numbers, often.
And on xbox there's also 'stats' alongside achievements so some games might have it as an extra stat outside of the actual game, which also doubles as a scoreboard among friends and global. although these days most devs/game abandoned the stats and it just records total playtime and nothing else.
