Losing your gun when a Burrier disarms you, a bug?
Is losing your gun when a Burrier disarms you a new feature, or a bug?

I got disarmed of one of my best weapons when fighting 3 Burriers in the dig site, and when I finally killed the 3 Burriers my gun as gone completely. I looked everywhere, I did not want to do that fight twice.

That has to be a glitch right? I've had my gun yanked from my hands many times in the past games and it's always someplace close by.

Is it just me? Because if it is then my gun probably just glitched out.

they put you guns on the ground, don't forget to pick it up.

Yep, I know that. But it wasn't on the ground after the fight, it was gone completely.

Could have gone through the map or it flew away somewhere. Either way its a feature, this mutant can manipulate with objects, just like poltergeist.

Could be anywhere. The problem with fighting them is if you don't pick the gun up quickly, they'll quite happy pick it up themselves, and of course if they've started throwing it around...

Yeah this is what I figured, but I mean I looked everywhere, even up top of the cave I was in. Ended up having to reload and kill them all over again with just grenades. I have too much invested in that gun. I couldn't check the bodies so if one of them had picked it up when he died I got screwed, I couldn't even move the bodies to check under them but I should have seen the gun though the body if it was under him anyway, so not sure that matters.

More then likely it went through the map...and THAT needs to be fixed.

And THIS is a good reason that they need to let you save during fights again like the old STALKER games.

Old thread but this has been happeneing to me even now had lost a unique named sniper thankfully I saved before fighting them and just spammed nades instead

Just use Skif's pistol instead, it cannot be lost due to it being a "quest item" so the burers can't disarm you if you use it.

Fully upgrading the pistol and getting the extended mag early is recommended and it doesn't really make it cost that much more to repair either.

It's possible it got flung far away, perhaps by a nade. To hard to prove imho. Perhaps try to noclip and look under the map haha.

A friend of mine said this actually doesn't work, will have to try it myself next time to be sure. He can't take the knife away for sure though.

The way I've been dealing with them is by opening the inventory screen as soon as they try to grab the gun away, it's been working.

While "Skif gun can't be stolen" is useful advice, don't forget inflated mutant health means they can soak a LOT of AP 9x18 even when you have hard cover to zip in and out of to heal when a rusty 74U rips 90% of your health off when wearing armor + artifacts that can laugh off (non gauss) sniper fire from humans.

They could yank the gun out of your hand in the past. But also they were easier to drop in one spray n pray unload when you had your opening. Once again, my most satisfying shotgun kill of all time was riot shotguning a burer so hard his corpse glitched into an upright standing position.

Scooby doo chases where I'm chasing them, then they are chasing me, repeat, because there are two more burers in the cave and I already threw the twenty grenades that normally would get me screamed at as "traveling with too many items" is just silly.

The idea of using an RPG is blocked from my mind because CoP also had one of my most embarrassing moments of hubris. Firing an RPG into a known multi burer room "why is it stopping-oh no" maybe I missed a poltergeist or something.

Im switching to knife, baiting 1 of them into corridor/tunnel, then bumrush with shotty. Sometimes have to mag dump 2x...
Unless its in Prpyat, didnt reach that place yet..
But 1st encounter I was stupid enough to try and snipe them also, lost Lynx to it...
Oh well, there came more namez guns, not something particylar to sweat about.

yes these things are maddening. i dont mind it being a bullet sponge but if it grabs your gun its usually gone, forcing you to reload.

Use the pistol loaded with AP rounds. Shoot for the head. Can also use grenades. Be patient and listen for the sound of their shield. Stay in cover when it's on.
