Regular FPS drops on any settings.

Hello everyone.

I'll say right away that I understand that the hardware I'm trying to play on is not the most productive today. But I also can't say that it's already so outdated and weak that it can't run STALKER 2 on any, even the "lowest" graphics settings.

I have a laptop with Ryzen 5800H, RTX 3060 130W and 6GB VRAM, 32GB RAM and NVMe SSD.

The only thing that works well in this game is loadings. The rest things give the impression that I'm trying to launch MAFIA 2 on Athlon 64 with 1GB RAM and GeForce 6600 Le. And no, my actual configuration is not that weak for STALKER 2.

The game regularly suffers from FPS drops at random times. Even if you turn the settings to super-low with a minimum resolutions (1280x1024 etc), the game still have these same drops. This looks abnormal. Alan Wake 2 works great, Silent Hill 2 Remake works great, WH Space Marine 2 works great, Atomic Heart works great. All these games allow me to play from not low graphics settings.

And when I played the prologue in Stalker 2, the game itself set me medium-high graphics. It was looking and playing great! But after the prologue, everything broke. On medium-high with DLSS, the average fps is around 50-70, but every 30 seconds game drops to 10-15. It is impossible to play. And this is the situation in the game WITH ANY combination of graphics settings.

I would still understand if the game lagged for my pc on any settings even with DLSS and could not reach 30 frames per second. But this is not so, if it were not for the drops, I could play perfectly in full HD resolution with DLSS and see beautiful graphics. I heard that the problem is attributed to 6 gigabytes of video memory, but a problem similar to mine occurs on video cards with 8, 12 and 16 GB of video memory. So I am convinced that the game has very deep optimization problems.

Comrades developers, please do not close your eyes to people with not the most powerful PCs. We are not trying to run your game on completely outdated hardware or on ultra settings. But I believe that on more or less average hardware we have the right to expect that the game will work NORMALLY at least on minimum settings. But here you have no settings or performance. Game only teases you, like "Look, even on high settings I give out an average of 50 frames, but I will constantly drop frames because its because!"

To sum it up:

Regular FPS drops to an unplayable state at random moments and on any, even the lowest graphics settings.

If you go into the PDA and do something there, the FPS also drops and does not return until the game is restarted.

True. I had to restart my game every single time this happened. Things got even worse after visiting the Garbage.

The funny part is my CPU load is ~50% during those time.

I feel that if the game was WELL optimized, it would fly on my PC. Because the CPU isn't always loaded even at 80%.

after looking on youtube for a wile, this game is GPU bound and not CPU like some people say.
i mean just looking at this guys tests, its clear that it a GPU optimization problem.
he has other tests even tested a RX580

Maybe so. Although the video card in my PC also does not particularly get an increase in fps when changing the settings. There were drops to the baseboard, so they remain. Except that they become a little less frequent.

Now I'm curious. The RTX3060 handled games that have a hardware ray tracing option well. I played the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition several full playgrough and the game worked on very good graphics settings. Here, I understand, the game-frame has become more polygonal and overall fullness, but still. I wonder if the developers keep their promises and add hardware ray tracing to the game, will this have a positive effect on the game's performance or will make a lot of new problems.

For me it was a problem with DLSS, I switched to TSR, and the drops were completely fixed.
