What graphics settings should I use with this Rig?
intel Core i7-12700KF
Gigabyte GeForce RTX™ 3070 GAMING OC 8G (rev. 2.0)
2x16gb Triforce DDR4 3200 RAM

Sometimes I can run the game fine for an hour on mostly high / epic settings until massive FPS drops.

If I turn everything to Low I still get FPS drops to 1-5FPS at random times, usually looking at an NPC.

Should I upgrade my CPU or GPU? Should I not be using upscaler?

prob won't be able to run this game on medium/low and expect more than 60 frames, upscaling will probably be your best bet, FSR allows you to use frame gen which can give you higher frames, make sure you turn on the input latency reduction settings though

Upscaling is basically expected for any card short of a 4090... They even have upscaling/frame gen accounted for in the system requirements.

It's really a shame how much devs are abusing those things as a shortcut for optimization. This isn't the first and won't be the last game to do it...

I was excited when the tech first started taking shape, sure you lose some things with the upscaling and frame gen like latency and lower quality but it would allow budget gpus to get good performance!

I guess I had too much faith in the industry, obviously it was just going to be a shortcut for the devs, and I doubt it bothers Nvidia or AMD much since it helps push people to higher end gpus. I mean before this current crop of games, you could still do damned well with a 1080ti but it just isn't cutting it anymore....

So my GPU is my bottleneck its a mid level one yeah? Getting a bit old. Time to upgrade I guess.

It's nicer than my 3060ti brother.
