Way too many bloodsuckers
So, I don't know if this is a bug, or what, but why does it seem that every other mutant I encounter is a bloodsucker? Its not that I cant kill them, but the sheer number of them is really beginning to grate on me. If we go off the previous games like call of pripyet, bloodsuckers are meant to be rare and highly dangerous enemies (so much so that stalker enclaves make a point to obliterate their nests as soon as they find one). Furthermore, bloodsuckers are supposed to be much more scary and unique mutants, and I feel like their current spam is degrading that factor.

In previous games when I saw a bloodsucker, it was a terrifying experience; a heart-pounding game of cat and mouse. Now when I see a bloodsucker its quickly become "Oh great, ANOTHER one, that's three in the past ten minutes.

Don't get me wrong, this is not a complaint about challenge or difficulty, but rather a more annoyed rant that we aren't getting so see other mutants of the zone that are "supposedly" more common like fleshes, blind dogs, and even the rats. It really doesn't fit with the lore of previous games, and I feel like downgrading what should be a dangerous predator into common fodder really does a disservice to both the player and the mutants themselves by degrading what should be memorable experiences into another common slog elements.

I'd rather have bloodsuckers than meet a chimera somewhere else.
Chimera's are easy AF. Just move to the left. Shotgun it to the face while moving backwards. Rinse and repeat. Bloodsuckers, you can't see and they have CC.
Yesterday doing a secondary mission in the second area for 800 measly credits, after killing the 5 enemies present while I was looting the bodies, a bloodsucker arrived and I managed to kill it, I went back to looting the bodies and another one arrived and while I was fighting with this one a third one arrived too, with difficulty using up all the supplies of ammo and healing I managed to kill them, also finding myself with the armor now destroyed, I went back to looting the bodies and in the meantime a 4th one arrived!!! WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥!!
The same situation happened to me in the first area where 3 blood suckers arrived at the same time.
These blood suckers and also the other practically immortal monsters are literally ruining the game in my opinion.
You can barely scrape together 2 coins to make a weapon, armor and have some ammo and then these pain in the ass arrive and force you to use up everything, even destroying your armor.
If this continues I will stop playing it until there is a fix or a mod that fixes this thing.

Run. Not every battle is one you can win.

read your.. whining?
Weaklings. The Zone is not for the weak.
The bloodsucker offends them. He does not offend - he takes revenge
Typical Bozo post. Your the idiot that said to use Night Vision when there is none in Stalker 2. Actual BOZO
They seem to be spawning WAY more after the recent update on the Box. This is compounded by another bug that was introduced in this update, where it appears that certain actions (more so saving and-especially- reloading) trigger new spawns. I just had an instance in the Swamps, in a mission critical area on the East side, where 1 Bloodsucker spawned (where you get an armour set), then another, than another couple on top of the previous two. 4 of them running around. So their spawning is definitely broken in the Box. EDIT: The actions most likely to trigger an instant spawn, right in your face, are opening the map, opening inventory, saving and reloading.

In terms of dealing with them I think this discussion has be ran into the ground. They are part of the economy sink, they are killable but are meant to cause huge repair costs and eat ammo and medkits. In most cases the encounters are just not worth it and you can run away from them or kite them into NPCs, all you need is some water/energy drinks at hand so you can keep sprinting. They are only a problem that needs to be dealt with in mission areas or when you are encumbered. Not nearly the most problematic mutant.

PS: This last update was a travesty on the Box. Spawning is screwed, Radiation no longer works (the Geiger counter goes off in the appropriate areas but you just don't get irradiated at all, not even from Artifacts) and the A-life seems as dead as ever. The only discernible improvement is that the weapon spawning in your inventory seems to have stopped. Not sure what the PC experience has been.

The PC experience is "Monsters are MMO style instead of classic stalker style" still, and also discovering TWO liquid rocks, the max rad absorbing artifact plus a Seva Suit might as well be naked against the few seconds between clean and rad death nemesis of all radiation franchises.

6 NPCs might eventually kill ONE bloodsucker in stalker 2. But also they will all die to a couple flesh, and especially boars. At least in CoP still braindead ally/neutral AI could handle pigs, yeesh.

Random irradiated truck with loot on the back. Radioactive trucks, why the ♥♥♥♥ are you more nuclear than walking through open barrels of nuclear waste in both stalker and fallout?

So hey, at least you have ONE nice thing going for you in Xbox land?

Random irradiated truck.

Ugh... sounds like the exact opposite bug to the Box? Radiation instead of disappearing from the game becoming instantly lethal?

most radiation seems business as usual. Games just love having "This spot of irradiated metal is super zesty" because they think making you have to spring in and out or through is "a challenge" instead of incredibly awkward for how jarring it is. In this case the loot was primarily a free PSZ-7 long after it was obsolete, as fond as I am of it as a rock solid suit until you move on to the good ♥♥♥♥.

random truck is basically like touching the "almost instant death" scrap in the back of the slag heap since launch, instead of the "just a little radioactive to scare you/make you glad you have better rad resist" stuff.

Which stood out more than usual due to the grand coincidence of having not one, but TWO liquid rocks (legendary max rad absorb) to experiment with at the time. "oh. oh I'm not just biased about this cliche mechanic. It really is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ absurd overkill rads"

Ok, that is not too bad. In my situation, radiation has utterly disappeared. You just can't get irradiated.
theres always like 4 of em i hate it

Just ran into 4 on the way to the first location in the swamps for the main story mission. Then 2 more upon arriving at the first location, along with a pack of dogs, and the creature that is there. Then after finding the route to get above, during the climb a scripted psi event occurred implying another Bloodsucker was on the other side of the barrier. Though nothing was there, after failing to jump to the broken access point the first time. Then after turning off the device, expecting the routine spawn of enemies all seeing exactly where I am through the walls.... that didn't happen. Then climbed down through the other access and can now hear another bloodsucker outside, but no visual on it. The lack of creature sounds having distance or even directional sound makes it hard to determine where they are. The sound is pretty bad in this area. A pack of dogs that sound like they are below you running around, but they are actually all hiding after you climbed on top of the box... strange design. Very arcadish and consolish design. Not good in a Stalker game. I loved playing the previous versions and itched to play them through until the end. Way too many staged events that seem to occur that ruin the immersion the OGs had.

Cuz the alife is still broken. Recent update did some things right like squad patrols but now the zone is a warzone with endless spawning enemies.

Just ran into Bloodsucker Village, blindly.

Got attacked by a group of Bloodsuckers.

Refunding now.

Kind of funny how it was completely empty for me except for the guitar guy and a Pseudogiant.
I had no problems, sometimes you fight them sometimes you retreat. All I see here is skill issues.
If you manage to survive the zone, it gets easier to fight everything.
