Varan won't talk to me

Everytime i try to talk to him he says he got no time for me. Whats up?

On my game, I stopped at Slag Heap to sell stuff on my way to Varan and the map marker for him disappeared, had to reload and go there first to keep it from disappearing. Was able to talk to him after re-loading and the rest of the quest went fine.

Maybe the patch fixed it.

I'm playing on Patch 1.1.3 having the same issue.
Varan is in the basement, near the prison cell and only says that he has no time for me.
Is there any workaround yet? I don't want to just kill him.

Found a solution:
Because Varan was sitting in the basement with some other NPCs around, I thought maybe they got stuck during the last emission.
I managed to return there during the next emission - et voila: afterwards Varan stood up and went to his throne where I could talk to him.

I didn't even listened to his crap. Blasted him and all his buddies, did the world a favor.
In case you're wondering he betrays you anyway, and you have to kill him .
