This side quest can make or break your game.
After 19 hours and 30 mins of Heart of Chornobyl, I can say that I have only had 3 bugs and 1 crash, it is a very solid game. I have had a lot of fun with it but there are several gleaming issues with the game and this one side quest can make or break your game-play experience. *light spoilers ahead*

A particular side quest is actually mandatory.

There is a side quest where you go to a warehouse and get some parts for a Warden NPC at the Icarus base. The reward is psi-suit, which is required in order to make a main quest much easier. Up to this point in the game, the game-play loop has been pretty clear. You do a quest, you get paid either in coupons, a weapon, an artifact or some sort of reward for your accomplishment of said quest. Well, the warehouse quest reward as confirmed by the NPC quest giver is a psi-suit, to help protect you more from the harsh zone environment. So, after travelling by foot to the warehouse, you come face to face with a Burer. If you've played the original game, you will know what this mutant is. Now, apart from it's magical abilities, it can also cause the player to lose their weapon, by yanking it out of your hand. Once you've defeated the Burer, you will then have to take down a Bloodsucker. After that is done, you find the parts the NPC wants in the upper area of the warehouse. Upon returning to the quest giver, you hand over the parts.

Quest complete, right?? Well yes, but unlike the previous 10 or so hours of game-play, showing you that you get rewarded for doing quests, this quest rewards you with 40,000 coupons, THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY IN ORDER TO GET THE F*CKING PSI-SUIT YOU JUST COMPLETED THE QUEST TO OBTAIN. Coupons are needed for nearly everything in the game. Fixing guns is a mandatory thing and it isn't f*cking cost effective. Then you sometimes need to repair your armour, and you can go from 45,000 coupons to 1500 in a matter of seconds. Who in the actual F*CK thought that it was a fun, good idea to make the player have to payout 40,000 coupons in order to receive a quest reward that the NPC clearly says, will be given to the player upon completion of the f*cking quest!

I am actually reconsidering purchasing the game all because the developers decided to break my immersion and point and laugh at me, by making me have to spend another several hours or more, earning 40K coupons for a QUEST REWARD, all because they wanted to be c*nts and not give the reward as per completion of the quest.

This was done to be malicious towards the player, an example of developers doing something they know is not a good design choice, for the shear purpose of pissing the player off, which by definition is the opposite of what games are meant to do!

The main mission that takes place in the swamps, literally tells you to get a psi-suit. The side quest says it is optional. The only thing that is optional is how you want to get the suit. You can find a vendor who sells it, or you can do the quest. You know what's funny?! Both scenarios of getting the psi-suit require YOU to PAY for it, despite it being an actual mission reward!! Why the f*ck do I have to pay for a reward I just went and done a whole ass quest to obtain?!! The design makes zero sense and no, this is not subjective.

literally don't know what quest you're talking about, you can find numerous great psy suits without completing ANY quest, the current state of the game has many things to complain about and this is clearly not one, furthermore i would be happy to get the 40k instead of a crappy psy suit that's probably way worse than those you can find by looking around just a bit

I completed the quest but the NPC didn't give me the psi-suit...even after the patch

@OP
I was very surprised he wanted to sell me the suite for such outrageous amount of coupons but I was even more shocked when I realized it is the very basic hazard suite you can get super early in the game when you first enter Garbage--it is in the basement of Detention Center point of interest.

Is this just a case of an NPC trying to scam you, like the "gauss pistol" in the original games?
Dr.Abscondus Nov 29, 2024 @ 3:11pm
You can get the suit for nothing at the Arms Depot. You just have to sneak past Ward guards and outsmart or kill a Burer to get it.

Just do what I did.
Google for Stalker 2 interactive map.
Bottom left, find the SEVA-1 suit marker.
Walk to Duga, easy fights, pick up mid-late game suit, lol.

Breaks your immersion? Bruh I have been tried to be scammed so many times its not funny. It would be much less realistic if no one, In a place that had basically no laws, were no one stopped you from shooting each other if people weren't scamming/screwing people over, which a main point of the story is HOW UNFORGIVING THE ZONE IS AND..... HOW YOU SHOULD TRUST NO ONE!
So how is it immersion breaking when everyone tells you and I mean EVERY BODY, that everyone is out to get you and to either kill rob or scam you and Oh no someone trye to hustle me.... OH NO MUH IMMURSHION!

Oh help me and ill give you this,
Okay thankyou here you can have this for 40k,
♥♥♥♥ like this happens to people everyday.

People cry about the stupidest stuff these days,

PS you do NOT need a psi suite, they give you psi pills, but if you are smart enough you dont even need them
pRaX Dec 2, 2024 @ 12:04pm
Do you have an option to decline and losing the suit?
abbadon70 Dec 2, 2024 @ 12:06pm
I grabbed the free one so when i got hit with the 40k asking price, i was like thats fine i already have the suit.

Yeah idk what OP is on about, never even heard of what they are talking about needing to pay 40k for a suit. I remember that mission but not that interaction, I think it's made up.

I just popped pills the entire time. I think I used 3-5 pills in total. Could've probably used much less.

I already had 2 other psi-suits by this point, the exact one he was selling and a better one. So I didn't even buy it. There's one identical to the one he sells that you can find on a much earlier main quest. Literally the only way you can miss it is if you just hold W through all the buildings without looking around. Another one was found near a stash in either the lesser zone or garbage, I can't remember.
