Thankfully by that point you have access to the Ram 2 shotgun. It will erase those uglies.
here I found your problem
easy fix
is that suppose to be hard?
I really hope the devs are gonna have some major patches rolling in, a ton of stuff in this game needs SERIOUS work. Thing that bothers me the most is for a game where one of the biggest mechanics is artifact hunting there just doesn't seem to be much of them at all. I've only found like 4 maybe 5 of them so far. Before you could run around and randomly find them in anomalies, seems like in this game they're all scripted for specific spots and that's it. More like you're supposed to only find them and use them and that's it, forget selling them. You don't even get much for them, and with the amount of human enemies you fight in this game the biggest moneymaker by far is selling their loot. I get so much stuff from each encounter it's crazy. Health, radiation, stamina, hell after a certain point even ammo. It all becomes meaningless you get so much of it.
