Garbage Zone Main Quest Bug/Issue ("Deal with the devil")

The Quest is "Deal with the devil"
The quest appeared normal up until i wanted to kill one of the kingpins. I choose to kill Roosevelt. I did and looted his PDA. Once i did that the quest updated and then all my quest markers disappeared. I found my way to Varan without markers. Before i talked to him i checked my inventory and I have Roosevelt's PDA. I Initiate dialog with him, i get dialog choice that i can tell him i took care of his problem. But then he acts like i don't have the PDA and only want me to get one or pay him. I checked my inventory after talking to him and the PDA is gone. FUBAR. I'm not sure how to proceed with the main quest now.
i guess i could always try and pay him the 20,000K...

You are aware that you can literally just kill him to get the key to the door right? No need to help him.

Yep, after messing around with this issue for a bit, i found there are multiple ways to deal with the quest blocking issue. In the end the biggest issue was that until i dealt with this, it was blocking my ability to track any of the other quests or way points.

Just look up where the other kingpin is (externally) and go there

Or just shoot Varan, it won't make a difference

Had a simillar bug. Only difference was that my Journal worked as intended, Markers and all, but when I got to Varan he didn't have any other dialog options except "Whats new in the Zone". I could not even pinpoint the moment the Quest got broken since there was quite some time between starting that questline and trying to finish it. So I had to put that Questline out of it's misery aswell.
