This game is just not fun... especially the mutants
Fighting this mutant now that can disarm me. Shoot me with my own weapons, has a kinetic shield, and its in a dark cave so I can't see him before he pops his shield.

Honestly this game is more chore/slog than fun. The stamina system is a joke, taking 1/3 of my stamina to swing a tiny knife.

I regret my purchase, but am past the 2 hour mark.

Path of Exile 2 can't come soon enough.

Ill agree some mutants have excesive healthpools but burers are easy, rush them with a shotgun, as soon as their shield is down magdump them, they should die before they pull your gun more than once. Same with controllers, both mutants are vulnerable to rushes, you shouldnt play tactically against any mutant types except zombies.

Some mutants are just there to teach you an important lesson: You don't have to kill everything that moves.

There are mods for stamina, also mods so enemies aren't as tanky, but as far as that enemy goes you just need to learn how to kill it.

True, running outside quests is always a tactic, you dont need to fight every battle.

The combat can be frustrating at times especially with the spongy enemies. I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and sometimes you can just one hit killed from behind by a silent invisible enemy and others you are boxed in by about 4 that each require several shots to down. It does feel really cheap and unbalanced plus there are instances of respawning and simply broken AI which can add further annoyance.

I've learned sometimes it's best just to run away, Combat definitely needs a rework from top to bottom.

We are talking about a Burer here. Like the controller it is a special (and very powerful) enemy which can't be dealed with default tactics. The Burer requires you to wait for his shield to drop, then you can damage him. It also isn't able to disarm your knife - so the way to deal with a Burer is to knife him. (has always been the case in the series btw)

What's new now (and totally awesome IMHO) is that the Burer is able to control weapons on the floor to shoot at you.

tl;dr: nothing new here, powerful enemy from the Stalker series, knife it down is the trick. Also: pick your fights - like Jet Uppercut already said.

I pretty much avoid most mutants, I just run. There a waste of ammo which I can't afford to waste.

I thought this game was pants also. Luckily I tried it on Gamepass. Far too difficult for me in an unenjoyable, pointless sort of way. Also its Ukrainian propaganda. Whereas I hope they win the war I dont like propaganda being forced on us.

With that kind of thinking, you should only play PoE and stay away from normal games

rookie mode is your friend

at least it has some balance instead of bullet-sponging every enemy

This was part of a story quest. However after beating it, I realized I could have ran, looted the PDA, and ran out and not kill him.

Lmao WHAT?
The stalker series has literally always taken place in Ukraine. The zone has literally always been in Ukraine. Chernobyl is in Ukraine. Put down the pipe
