FrameGen on 4080 seems counterproductive.
In many cases Framegen seems to add stutter or even fall apart causing fps below the fps i would get without framegen.
It also increases the prevalence of some of the game's stutters.
Now it could be that DLSS framegen has a memory leak in this game and that it just fills up the VRAM after a while.
But it could also be it is just halfbroken.
In the end i found a 50-70 fps with 4kDLSSquality to feel way smoother than a 4kDLSSbalanced with framegen getting me around 100 fps.

FrameGen produces a hell of lot of latency and makes the game seem like its running at lower fps. I'd simply rather not using it

yeah, even when generating frames from 60 or higher, in this game it just feels way worse than 50-60 fps normally.
so odd i get more FPS than you on my 3080 on 4k max settings . in zone i am always between 80-100 FPS in towns i am around 60-70

Try amds...it's been great for me..only problem is if you dip under 80 or so...you get some weird screen tear..above that is smooth as butter

never noticed that. Things like ingame vsync causing that for me. But with tweaks, low latency/vsync from drivers it went away. Framegen doesn't make it better or worse, but looks slighly smother, so I'm using it.

I'm using settings to get 50-60fps without it (less in cities). That's playable for RPGs for me. Framegen makes movement smoother where the lacking would be the most noticeable, so it helps.

Check if FrameGen enabled Nvidia Reflex for you too.

For me stutters are gone with Reflex enabled.

nah, with DLSS framegen it automatically enables reflex.
anyway, for me the game just feels less responsive and more stuttery with framegen enabled.
It is partially bugged as well, as i just had instances where framegen would ruin the actual framerate.
But also overall it's just less sensitive to my input, and i don't like the feel of that.
Anyway, just DLSS quality will look and run better than DLSS balanced with framegen anyway.

Not necessarily. FrameGen should automatically enable Reflex but just read linked topic. It’s enabled as a switch in game settings but in fact disabled and not functioning at all. I have that bug and several other players confirmed it too so you might want to double check if it’s enabled

Well you clearly smoked something to unsee it, considering your name.
It is common knowledge FrameGen increases input lag/latency.
Not always in a bad way, but in this game it seems pretty bad.

Well no ♥♥♥♥ it increases frame latency. Man DLSS must be ♥♥♥♥ if you're saying that. Not having FSR3 FG is a night and day difference. All that work and DLSS is inferior lmfao.
