What difficulty should i play on?

Never played a stalker game before but not a newcomer to games. What difficulty do yall recommend? Is it really as hard as people say? Is the hardest difficulty even fun to play on or are the enemies bullet sponges?

Try the lowest and if you feel it's to easy then raise the difficulty level.

Normal, for a first playthrough at least.

Veteran is for best for series veterans, tourists can't really enjoy it since they fail at basic concepts like avoiding taking damage to avoid repair bills and not wasting weapon durability and ammo on mutants instead of just leaving

Bullet sponges will be altered ahead most likely, and play on mid difficult for starters. Stalker is not like any other game, so you will need to learn all over. Slow is the only way to go, and you will learn the hard way this is not cod or bf.

I have been playing on easy. This is my first time really diving into a Stalker game. I have dabbled in the previous games a little bit years ago, but very little. I'm an older gentleman of 50 years, but I can hold my own in most games as I have been gaming since the arcades and Atari 2600.

All that being said, I have about 35 hours in so far and I have died 67 times.
The mutants are brutal. The dogs.. Dear God, the dogs.. The psi-dudes using every gun, including your own, to turn your loot hunt into Iwo Jima.. This game is ruthless brother.

I recommend "easy" mode.

Easy mode isn't actually easy, it's less brutal........

Alrightyyy thank you all so much! Ill probably go with easy or normal and change it along the way if i feel the need
