What is it with all this RADIATION
You can't do a darn thing because you are always afflicted by Radiation ... I don't think there is enough VODKA in the whole game to cover the constant Radiation problem, let alone trying to find the anti Rad injections ... (I'll have to jump onto Fallout to see if I can bring some over) I have the Debut Suit and the Optician Gas Mask, but they don't seem to have any effect ... so whats the idea here, are the Dev's getting a kick out of the fact that you have to run around worrying more of where to find the Next Med pack and the next Anti Rad Fix, than going around doing quests. OK I understand that this is a Contaminated area, but give a guy a break ... seriously, short of wearing Lead Underwear, what else is there to do.
Everyone else in the Camp seems to be enjoying life as if there were no Radiation, so what just because I'm the New Guy I get to absorb all of it.
One thing is making the game Hardcore, another is being over excessive about it.

Its truly shocking that a game set in a nuclear disaster zone has radiation, what the hell are the devs thinking.

I remember when I played Subnautica, I was very angry there was so much water!

I appreciate your advice to all of you... especially the CLOWNS that are still WET behind the ears and think they know it all, if you guys DON'T have anything intelligent to add to a reasonable conversation keep your 2 bit sarcasm to yourselves. If you had taken the time to read my post AND understand it (which I find difficult for people like yourselves, seeing the level of education that you have demonstrated) I did say that "I understand that this is a contaminated area" and by contaminated I meant RADIATION wise .... not contaminated by IDIOTS .... we don't need radiated areas to find those, there are enough everywhere.

To those who advised me about Artifacts, I thank you and will certainly remove any I have. Wouldn't life be so much easier without all these WANNA BE Comedians.

Don't equip artifacts on the Debut suit. The Debut suit has very poor radiation protection, no better than the leather jacket you start with. Much better armor is available in the starting area. You just have to kill some of those soldier boys to get it. Armor is also a reward from early missions and can be found in abandoned labs. Just Google armor for details.

So you had artifacts that were giving you a lot of radiation which was causing you trouble, you did not realise this and you needed people to advice you about that despite it being obvious!

And you call us stupid for laughing at you and making jokes, lol.

IF you know English and IF you know how to read English, in my post that you quoted, I didn't say I had Artifacts. I just said that I appreciated the advice, and also said that if I had any on me I would remove them.
When I went to school, apart from READING, GRAMMAR, SPELLING and WRITING, COMPREHENSION was also a subject I was taught in my English classes.
It is obvious that that was one of the two subjects they omitted with you. READING and COMPREHENSION and some Spelling
So YES, I repeat you are STUPID because (A) you DO NOT know how to READ and (B) if you do read, you have difficulty in Understanding.
Now you will probably come and tell me that English is not your mother Language.
I don't really care .... you wanted to make others laugh with your SARCASTIC comments, and all you have succeeded is proving how STUPID you really are.

Remember one thing about life my young friend. If you want others to show RESPECT for you, you must start by showing RESPECT for them, and seeing you showed NO RESPECT for me, I will also show you NONE.
In my book you remain a STUPID PERSON seeing you like to make fun of others mistakes.
Class Dismissed END OF LESSON.

Could you have one of those artifacts on you causing more radiation?
I'm still in the first zone so I don't know much about the later zone issues.

iirc, there are still loads of areas in and around the plant and in villages that are still quite hot. I saw a yt video of a dude who traveled to Pripyat and his guide told him to not go to certain areas because the radiation was not "safe". Dude had a counter and it was clicking something fierce in some of the areas he was at. People who criticize the game wonder why it's so barren. Big guess why? Definetly couldn't be all the fun radiation! Nah, that's not it. The devs were just too lazy to put non-hostile NPC's in houses saying hello to you and asking you to come in for a hot meal! Hell, didn't carloffdoody handle it's portrayal of Ukraines' radiation levels fairly without super exaggerating it?

Agreed, devs please fix
A lot of things are broken in this game but not radiation.
That one works just right. I have no idea what you guys are doing that you go thru all the vodka and anti rad meds and still are irradiated.

Just avoid places with high radiation, where you usually have radiation warning signs.
Also don't stay too long next to trucks and heavy machinery, those are usually sources of radiation.

I have more problems with money.
Even after doing side quests and traging whole backpack of AKs I'm hardly doing good.
I guess I will start selling my stash ow vodka and extra ammo.
Tho I tried to avoid that in the past.

Stop walking around vehicles and trash dumps. Start walking backwards when you hear crackling. Equip artifacts or gear that gives you some resistance to radiation. Pretty simple stuff.
Tadashir Nov 25, 2024 @ 5:23pm
The strangest thing about the radiation is it's almost always around cars. Yet if you press in to see what's hidden there... it's nothing. No can of cat food or bullets... I've yet to find a single thing around a car but they're always highly radioactive. More the stuff in this game that makes no since.
Treusch Nov 25, 2024 @ 6:21pm
Radiation sticks to metal. Large metal items can be very radioactive.

Honestly between my suit and equipped artifacts I barely worry about my radiation levels.

I found few things in trucks though is rare. Also it make sense.
If you visit Pripat, they warn you about running around the trucks, especially those that were involved in the emergency operation in the nuclear plant.
There is also zones where you shouldn't dig dirt for example. Like the infamous Red Forest.

Its fun stuff. So it baffling that a lot of people don't have a clue about this stuff.
Or find radiation that much of a problem in this game.
