Bug Zalissya defend
I heard that Zalissya need help with defending, I come fast save them and
1. Cant open the door Always Show "locked"
2. And i hard enter the door next cant speek with NPCs...

its just bug, that happens same with main quest, bunker door to professor also locked and cant get in and cant move on with the MAIN quest...... i mean performance i was ok but this is utterly bullsh-i-t, had to download command mod to pass the door

quest seems very bugged most of the time. In my playthrough when I first got to Zalissya the town hall was full of Monolith and I was softlocked like you were. Unfortunately unlike the other quests it seems like no matter what you do (Console Command complete quest, console command kill NPCs, take time to kill all npcs, etc) the final quest objective to fight off the monolith attack fails

whole bunch of monolith are in the building just chillin and the other dudes don't want to talk to me.

same and i finish the quest somhow and i leave the village Graffer say in radio the villiga safe again and i move far sad the village is fallen so WTF ????

I have the same problem. No Monolith spawn, can't progress the quest at all. Soft-locked now until this is patched. :(

I found a way to finish the quest but I am not sure if it works for everyone.

OBVIOUSLY THIS GUIDE WILL HAVE SPOILERS FOR THE QUEST

When you come to Zalissya, run around and wait until small group of Monolith wackos spawn outside the Hall, kill them and make sure the stalkers stay alive. It will trigger the stalkers to kick the doors and open them. There will be monolith inside, but don't do anything to them yet. When you go in, talk to Gaffer and it will be just normal convo like with any non-quest npc, but for me it triggered the next stage of the quest which asks you to talk with Warlock, ask stalkers if they need help and kill Uncle. I went to kill uncle then came back. DO NOT TALK WITH GAFFER YET. Then used the console command XKillNPCInRadius 1000 -1000000000000 100 to kill the Monolith to make stalkers to come out of their combat mode, if they don't stop their combat mode just reload and try again. When this happens talk with Warlock and it triggers his parts of the mission. Do those. (I did non-aggressive option) and talk with Warlock again. There should be a guy with binoculars outside close to the hall. At some point he will talk about monolith on the hill (when you stand close to him) and asks you to kill them. Do that and talk with the guy again. Then go inside where Lens is lying wounded. Talk to the guy next to him and he asks to do something. Do that. Then come back and talk with him again. Now all the optionals should be done and you can now talk with Gaffer again. After this the quest triggered the monolith attack to the Zalissya. Do that and kill all the monolithians, (if some of them spawns inside the Hall again, use XKillNPCInRadius 1000 -1000000000000 100 again) run through all the blue quest markers if there are any left and this should trigger the victory condition and end scene. If everything went well, you have now completed the quest.

For me, even if you complete the quest and the achievement pops, as soon as you leave they will have a message calling it a safe place from monolith, but if you get near the edge of the Lesser Zone, another radio message says the town is lost. I did a test to see if it was just a audio bug, but no, everyone is dead except some npcs that are completely hostile. So no matter what they die, at least in my world

Thanks for your help, this solution allowed me to complete the quest.

However, now I have the next bug which is the same as the last person stated. Leave Zalissya, happy message about free place for stalkers, followed a couple hundred metres later by a message stating this is the end of Zalissya.

I have a fix, a bit complicated, but I managed to complete the mission and not make Zalissya fall.

First of all you need to install UETools Developer Console.

Second, you enter the locked building using noclip. (UETools_Ghost)

Talk to Gaffer, then walk back out.

Some enemies will be spawned on the hill directly opposing the building's door, kill them. The door will unlock after this.

Get away from Zalissya a bit. Then walk back. About 300 meters should be fine.

One of the NPC's will be outside the building, watching the area with binoculars. Talk to him, he'll reward you, then some of the enemies will come out the town hall.

Kill them. Some may be stuck inside, despawn them using this command: XDespawnAliveNPCsAtRadius Radius

(Watch out for the radius, don't despawn Gaffer, Warlock, Hamster or Mykolaich, the other Stalkers aren't a problem)

After all of them dies, Gaffer's dialogue should be available, and the rest of the mission will continue as it should. Just follow the instructions.

cheers lol, ran into this like 10 minutes after you posted this and this method worked for me, also for anyone suffering from the bug where zalissya falls once you get to the edge of the lesser zone theres a fix here on reddit but requires command prompts but it works great

I got it working somehow (restarting check point multiple time) but now after 2 attacks I need to get inside the main building and there is a npc standing in the doorway and I can't get in. This is very frustrating and happend a couple of times already....
