Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl was superior game

Graphically it still holds up, runs smoother and max FPS, the A.I. is better, stealth works better (can drag bodies and hide them), the dialogue and voice acting is better, had more interesting enemies, the UI is better, both on screen and inventory/stats, could keep going on if you include the expansions as well.

Shadow of Chernobyl unmodded definitely does not have better graphics and no they really don't hold up well anymore lol and this is coming from a stalker fanatic who has thousands of hours across the series both vanilla and modded

Been playing it vanilla/unmodded and it looks just fine considering its age. Didn't say it looks better but perhaps for its time it did.

Crazy how little difference almost 20 years in tech advancement has actually made. If you boot up SoC vs HoC side by side you would expect a more drastic change but eh...It is not like going from Morrowind to Skyrim was in the early 2000s, I would say its less of a jump and somehow the gameplay is worse and the A.I. system in place is 100% worse than it was in 2007

It wasn't initially. It had some terrible bugs. Saves going missing crashes, the lot.

Anyone who says that has never played Shadow of Chernobyl. It was buggy as hell, harder than S2 and had gamebreaking bugs that never got fixed. Like the autosave when entering CNPP, clipping through stairs and falling through floor, again and again.

Lol dude, OG Stalkers basicaly defined "Slav jank", and it was not amusing jank viewed through pink glasses like nowdays looking back. It was similar rage from fans like you can see today.

Yes and in 5-8 years we will be able to run it maxed out settings 60 FPS 4k Res hopefully too :) - not even joking this is how long I waited to play games like Crysis and Metro series from release date to capable rig)
