Emission Storms Broken
You tell me I need to take cover, so I run into a house and die from the storm outside. Way to over sight a glaring gameplay mechanic.

Game literally marks the closest ''shelter'' bro.

Yep, sadly it seems like some buildings just don't count as cover for some reason, happened to me as well yesterday, the only way to know if you're safe is checking the quest telling you to hide, if it doesn't say "seek shelter" or whatever, then you're good. Otherwise, you might want to find another place :/

Some buildings don't offer protection.

Also some parts of same building that offers it, may have parts that don't.

By design, like in previous STALKER games.

Oh dear. They kept THIS of all annoyances from the old games? It was exactly like that back then. Only very specific buildings counted as cover and the game would put a map marker showing where you had to go.

That quest bugged forever for me during the first cutscene with scar, I have a permanent quest marker on that farmhouse now lol

Not only designated shelter provides shelter. You just cant expect every half destroyed wooden shed to offer shelter against emissions.

Indeed. but often the buildings that looked protective were not, and ones with lots of windows and big holes in the roof WERE.

True. But general rule of thumb, does it have concrete walls? Probably safe. Does it have baricaded windows in addition? Most likely safe. is it cellar or underground area on top of it all? You found shelter for sure.

It doesn't in my game. I'm under ground in the swamp and still die.

Not matter where I go super tryhard no matter what I do I die. I literally had to pick a save 2 hrs back and when I got to the point of an immission storm I still kept dying.

It blows my mind people will support a game that's completely broken and unfinished because they liked the former games, etc

The AI and enemies are terrible. Stealth is non-existent. I could go on forever hrs about how bad, broken and unfinished this game is. If devs would take their heads out of their asses this game could be the BEST in the genre. I've already lost 20 hrs plus and had to start over curled to corrupted save files but now after days trying on and off to get through this crap storm I can't. I literally bought a game that I can't finish because it's broken. I know I should get good, etc. It's not the game ever it's the player. Gamers like you are a huge majority why we get almost every release of a game broken, unfinished or worse because you're fine with it.

The Swamp emission is the scripted event I believe? You can only go to 1 place and that's the Clear Sky base, should be marked on the map. It's scripted, you can't find shelter anywhere else.

It can be a bit janky but ive found that if its a house or building, needs to have closed windows and doors for it to be safe, buildings with broken windows offer zero protection.

It is weird tho, i dove down some stairs into a mausoleum at one point and even though i could see up the stairs into the emission going strong outside i didnt take any damage. Even sitting on the step before going outside wasnt taking damage.
Anyway i think emissions are great, ive only seen npcs/enemies scrambling for cover one time but hopefully when A-Life comes that will remedy that.
