Signage in Cyryllic language
As aa person who can't read Cyryllic I feel I miss out a lot on the random signage around the world, posters, texts written in paint on walls etc. There should be a translation appearing when looking at objects containing Cyryllic text

Writings on walls are actually in Ukrainian. I can't read them either.

Learning Cyrillic is really not hard, understanding it is (because then you need to learn Ukrainian).
For example: Селисся = Zelissya.
С = S, e is just regular e, л = l, и = i, then double s again and я = ya.

In regards to signs that don't just try to convey a place name then I guess you can translate the text from Ukrainian to your language of choice with your phone's camera.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Now you understand our problems with western games in 90-00s :D
Just ignore it. They are not important and don't have any value for a plot.

It seems a lot of people don't understand what the problem is. Learning cyryllic alphabet is still not helping with translation...

There are plenty of games that will show translation overlay when looking at things containing a different language or even regardless what the language is. I'm not asking for anything unusual.

And thirdly this is a Ukrainian made game that is also taking place in Chornobyl, Ukraine. Some people can't read maps.

I'm not sure what to tell you if you think people should learn a whole language and alphabet so they can understand a game that's released globally.

I'm not telling anyone to go learn Ukrainian. I don't know Ukrainian either. I just said that learning the Cyrillic script is not that hard and also very fun and useful but not necessary at all.

I was wondering about this too. So they aren't like clues or warnings or such?

Several times when playing, I've said out loud: Hm it would be great to be able to read whatever's on this sign, seems it might bring more context...Simple english subtitles when you mouse over it would be great !

Ok but that doesn't help at all. We need translations to understand the script. The alphabet won't cut it. I clearly wrote some of us can't read it and we also need translation. Check my original post.

Google Lens worked just fine on many instances of wobbly and uneven graffiti on the walls. Just have to move it in and out a few times to try to catch all the words. I frequently pull out my phone to read what's on the walls.
