Deceive the deceiver bugged out

On the quest to kill the dude, showed him the stupid gun and lured him to his buddies. waited awhile while they had a smoke and then killed him and the stupid quest still doesn't complete...it just hangs. WTF do I do now? I've heard the quest giver is supposed to appear in slag heap, he doesn't. I don't have ANY saves before this and it bugs the hell out of me having a bugged quest in my PDA (thank my OCD)

You are lucky you could even show him this gun. For me Zakhar just vanished from the game and im stucked with step to lure the guy outside.

I ended up nuking my save and intend to start fresh. There are an extreme few things that are capable of triggering me, a task I can't finish, success or fail, is one of them. At least I wasn't too far into the game.

Same, I never talked to him beforehand but got attacked by bandits, killed them and got the quest accidentally. Now I'm at scrap heap and can't find Zakhar.

This quest is so bugged on so many level. Reloaded a older save, and did it all in proper order. Got mission from Zakhar, met up with the guys, and the baddie with the special gun was already dead. Shot the rest, took the gun, accepted the revenge quest and got back to scrap heap. Agreed to escort Zakhar, but oh boy, he never walks to his henchman. He either walks up on the radioactive hill and dies, or walks back to scrap heap and acts like a perimeter guard. Or I shot him, but the quest never gives me a tracker to the guy who wanted Zakhar dead.

Another bug with this quest: Zakhar wasn't there for me was when I didn't loot the special gun off the bandits (sashka or something) body. The bandit's body was removed after I left the area and made the quest impossible to complete. I had to reload an older save and make sure to get the gun.

I thought my quest was bugged too, then I checked his stash at night and he was there.
idk if the quest was actually bugged, or if your intended to check the stash at night...

Dont you have to talk to the guy afterwards? forget his name but he was the one that was scammed by the guy and that completes the quest? he was in the main building bottom floor just outside the gun store on the right

Bugged as well for me. But I solved it like this way....

I didnt start the quest by Zakhar. I ran over to the place where you will find Akopyan. By me he asked me as well for help as when I started the quest by Zakhar. As I got the quest from Akopyan to help him killing Zakhar, I accepted and went back to the slack heap.

But dont forget to loot the dead body with the named weapon.

Zakhar was still there where he's standing the whole time. I speaked with him and escorted him afterwards to his stash. When he looted it and turned to me, I killed him. I looted him and go back to the slack heap where I got the reward from Akopyan.

Maybe also a solution for other... don't know.

But by all that buggy things... I am still a fan of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. anyway
