audio is bugged but fixable sort of

my setup is 5.2.1 atmos surround and the sound is all messed up in this game. voices come through the center channel only, no matter where the voice is coming from in the game. Guns only play through the back surround channels. The sound is also overall quiet but balanced way off. Voices are louder than guns. Actually guns are very quiet in the default sound mode.

anyways change it to mono. surround sound isn't working in this game, there's no stereo option, so mono it is. now i can hear everything anyways. and guns sound like guns and are way louder.

that's weird, because the main character, his voice comes through my center channel, but everybody else comes through the front channels or one of the rears if they're behind me. I'm running 7.1. Aside from that one issue, seems to be working fine. Is it Atmos that's not working properly? What type of system do you have? I mean, do you have a full on home theater, or do you just have a surround sound system that all come together? Or is it like a sound bar setup with rear speakers?

I have had some serious trouble placing shots. I hear it, but can’t find it based on the sound. It’s pretty frustrating, I’m not used to that. Sometimes yes, but there’s been multiple times I find myself spinning in circles.

Aye, the sound is off with atmos surround for sure, and I think there are some more general issues too in there. I turned mine off after hunting around a compound for 10 minutes for a chap I could hear calling for help.
