Echo detector not working

I hear the beeping, but it doesn't light up when near an anomaly. It's just blank. Is it glitched or am i missing something super simple?

The beeping is to alert you that you are close to a hazard. The detector itself will also beep seperately and also light up when you are ALSO near an artifact

The detector I believe you are referring to is used to detect artifacts, not anomalies. Not all anomalies are near an artifact, artifacts seem to be found in anomaly fields that are named locations and that is when your detector will start beeping.

Are you sure that the sound you hear is from the detector and not the beep that warns you that you are close to an anomaly?

By the way, not all anomalies have artifacts.

I have the same issue. I'm doing the side quest to retrieve the artifact for Squint. I'm inside the cave in the area with acid pools. I have the echo detector out and it does not make any beeping sounds and the light does not flash. I watched the video on youtube on how to do this quest. I'm doing the same thing, but my detector is not beeping and not lighting up.

The workaround for artifacts not appearing is restarting a game most of the time. If not the fix is coming in next couple of days for quest blockers - they said on discord patch is coming.

Hi, it didn’t fix it for me.

The problem is the engine doesn't always spawn artifacts you're right on top of so people think the detectors are bugged.

Has anyone managed to solve this problem? Can I continue the main threads without this artifact?

It is now February 11th and like you watched the video walkthrough so standing exactly in the correct spot. Detector just stays blank.
