which game's better? Stalker or Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition? gameplay & atmosphere both seems so much alike!

I think Exodus is good but it deviated too far from its strengths and tried too hard to be a stalker-lite. Gonna have to give this one to stalker.

Also it doesn’t help that Exodus STILL has game breaking bugs to this day.

Exodus is a stalker wannabe game honestly. It wasn't bad. I enjoyed it. But I agree with what you said. It tried too hard and moved away from its own strengths.

Unfortunately I must say Metro Exodus. I love Metro games too though. I gave Metro 2033 a chance because of Stalker SoC whet my appetite for grim Russian style horror games. If this game had come out 10 years ago, it would be game of the year material. I haven't even finished it yet, so maybe it's better than I think. Call of Pripyat came out in 2009. So it's been a really long time. Metro Last Light is better than Exodus, even now, in my opinion.

The first two are akin to modern Wolfenstein games, they weren't all that bad though, pretty solid for a play through or two, Exodus I'm not entirely sure why is regarded as the worst, perhaps it's a story thing but I haven't been paying too much attention to it to be honest.

Another game that might fit the bill as far as open world RPGs go is Atomic Heart, now that one was really solid. ♥♥♥♥ I liked it more than Exodus. There's plenty to play while STALKER 2 actually releases feature complete.

I'm not saying they're bad games, just not my taste.

Older Wolfenstein games were amazing, 2009 was ok, but modern ones, I own the first 2, but I've yet to try them out.

Haven't played or even heard much about Atomic Heart, so can't comment on that.

They're completely different sagas with certain similarities. The Metro saga is very good, but the STALKER saga is pure magic. Honestly, the STALKER saga is infinitely better than the Metro saga in almost all, if not all, of its features. That doesn't mean that the Metro saga is not very good obviously. But there is no possible point of comparison. Metro saga is an awesome FPS, STALKER saga is an awesome world. In fact, Shadow of Chernobyl is already better than the entire Metro trilogy for its complexity and everything it offers. The same for Call of Pripyat. I think any of Metro games are better than Clear Sky, though.

Both franchises are fantastic. But for the time being try metro trilogy before they fix Stalker 2 after a yea or so.
