I've also noticed it's very expensive to repair weapons.. but this is where modding comes in and game is very mod-able with UE5

Waaait. So in you rmind the *only* way to make money is to kill mutants.

IOW you have no clue and the game is at fault.

Wow.

Just use the glitch. Hover over an item you placed in the sell window and leave the mouse cursor on drop or .. one of the options I forget. When you mouse over the correct thing the price in the window goes back up to cost and then use the keyboard to sell. There's no multiplayer economy to disrupt so I doubt they will be upset. They should have caught it before launch anyways.

keep your gear in good shape and it wont be expensive af to repair. you are meant to keep every above 60% or higher. if you think gear breaks to fast then install the mod from nexusmods

There are already mods out there on Nexus that fix many issues you noted; especially the bullet sponge mutants.

It really shouldn't take 10 shells of 12 gauge 00 buckshot point blank at a bloodsucker's chest for it to go down. Let alone with a single round of 7.62 x 39 center mass at a blind dog.

On veteran in the old stalker games everything died in 2-3 hits which was fair.

Yeah making money isn't hard but OP has a point. The repairs are a bit over the top and bullet sponge enemies really are a thing.

The game is absolutely amazing and ofc it can be modded, but actual problems should be pointed out nevertheless.

would be nice to gain some cash from killing mutants, kinda like a bounty method, how much do you think a blood sucker would be worth? currently, only way to get cash is from selling gear and quests, and quests are very limited, but gear is not.

iirc, the rate is determined from costs between current to new and the game charges you the rate between (based on the actual condition) them for repair.

Lol, sorry, but what? I repaired my freedom guardian armor which cost me 31k at 28%. At 87% it is 14k. So you tell me HOW is it cheaper, when the % doesn't mean diddly? The % just makes the weapon/armor less reliable, armor loses protection, weapons lose damage/can jam.

I concur though, use the sale's glitch to get 100% value from your sales. You won't have money problems anymore and this game's wack economy won't infuriate you.

You do no recall correctly, because if it was as you described where the repair cost was the difference between it's damaged value and brand new value, we wouldn't have this situation where it costs significantly more to repair an item than it does to buy the same thing brand new at 100% condition.

Same issue in call of Pripyat, most of the time it wasn't worth fixing it. It came to a point, where it wasnt worth repairing anything to sell.
DropTheXD Nov 22, 2024 @ 9:32pm
I think that the people defending the economy right now havent played enough to see the issue. I'm like 10 hours in and the upgrade system seems pointless because I cant afford to keep up repairs. I knew it would be important to keep things repaired so from the very start I was trying to keep gear topped off. My armor costs 25k to repair atm. I think the most Ive made selling an inventory of guns is like 4k. Artifacts ive found sell for 1-4k.

The economy of this game is like the others. But this one seems to focus more on artifact hunting because they are more random to find now. And the rarer ones are worth more, whereas in the other games, the ones considered rare then, now fall into common. When in the older games, they were just kinda laying around in the open. You can find some like that in this one(Yeah I know CS and COP had the detectors, but you could still find artifacts bouncing/laying around), but I haven't seen them too often like that(usually something nasty is near as well).
