Illusion dogs?
Any tips for this ♥♥♥♥? I just spent 150 rounds on it. I realize it made illusions and there was only a single one... but how do you identify that single one?

Move to high ground like a car or truck. Use 1 ammo to find the real one.

The real pseudodog has glowing eyes.

Do the fake ones deal damage?

Well that would have been helpful for the first 20 hours i played lol. I encounted 3 of these things and they wiped out almost half a dozen stalkers each.

Nope.

However, once the pack is on you, the psy-dog *will* move in and whack you. You need to create distance and find the glowy sod, normally hiding behind a nearby obstacle. Ding it and the pack vanishes.

What's with the lies? They ALL have glowing eyes, and they ALL do damage.

Tips? Yeah, run away from them. But if you are in the arena, get up on boxes and try to find the one dog hanging around behind the others. And hope most of your shotgun rounds hit the real dog.

You also might try to bring armor-piercing/AP rounds for your pistol into the arena. They don't take your pistol from you, so if you already have AP loaded that may help take down the main dog quicker, if you find it.

AP Ammo is useless against Mutants, conserve it for Humans. They dont have Armor but ridiculous high Health Pools.
Pseudo Dogs have around 900 HP, while you have 100. Bring Hollowpoint/Expansive Ammo with High DMG Gun, so a Shotgun or Sniper Rifle and you can 2-3 Shot them.

Thankfully psi dogs spawned while allies were in the area and all the npcs will target the actual dog thanks to their BS auto aim. Just follow their lead and EZPZ

there are two ways to defeat these guys if you are next to a town or group that is friendly to you have it follow you, you're friendly NPCS will start shooting this helps greatly
the second way is to jump onto something and when it starts going into cover including the clones toss grenades whatever is leftover you bum rush towards it and mag dump your gun into it
the first one is preferable the second one is if you have no choice but if you have some good armor they don't do much damage
just control your shots the main one tends not to be the one attacking you it usually stays mid range unless it's clones do all the work when it starts to howl and starts summoning new clones immediately Mag dump that one this will give you a window to do some damage before it switch his position with another clone
your personal PTM pistol can be used to thin the ranks real easily to trigger to summon more clones switch to your AK or shotgun when they get low that way you can be ready to damage it when it starts summoning

I was in the east side of Duga where I'd never been before, and an emission call went out. Ran like mad for the marker, and dashed into a little building with 2 open doors and stopped face to face with one of these psidogs.

It immediately filled the room with clones, and the emission hit.

If you can back into a corner, the fake ones disappear with one shot. When you hit the one that doesn't disappear, dump every round you have - shotgun is always the best with mutants. I went with Skif's pistol until I hit the real one then swapped to my shotgun. Took some damage then, but when the final damage took it out I still had time to patch up.

The one that's scratching behind cover is the real one. You can hear the scratching noise

Categorically wrong. Most mutants have armor. Pseudodog has 300 HP and 60% armor. Armor piercing rounds are preferred against most mutant except the little bouncy critters, blind dogs, boars and fleshies.
