I went back to a previous quick save that was 15 minutes old before I grabbed a stash with a brand new gask mask in it. I dont know why maybe its a reward for a side quest which screws something up. So I skipped it and now its working just fine.
My theory (which is probably totally wrong but whatever) is that if you grab certain stashes that are tied to quests, you might cause the game to bug out when you approach NPCs tied to that stash.
I tested it 3 times and it was always the same. I cant get through a cutscene in the village once I grab the gas mask stash, but if I skip it I dont crash in the village. If you didnt grab the gas mask, it could be tied to another stash somewhere else.
I tried to:
* load the savefile before entering the village (basically 1hr of gameplay wasted lmao)
* use the -dx12 flag for game exe shortcut
* use the Optimized Tweaks S.2 mod (shaders compiling took twice longer with it installed lol)
* disable autosave
* enable/disable Windows Game Mode, power saving mode etc
Didn’t help since I still always had this error after talking to a bartender or a mechanic at Zalissia (Залесье), no matter what
What seemed to help (at least for mow) was lowering graphics to lowest preset (in addition to mentioned above) and disabling FG and DLSS
Now I could save as much as I can with no errors so far, take all the quests I wanted, then leave Zalissia area and freeroam with all the settings back at their maxes (excepr for hair, they seem to be bugged, but that’s another story)
My guess is that the Zalissia area is bugged and drains out either ram or vram (googling the error code says the same) and using the lowest graphics to lower down gpu and/or ram consumption helps
Dunno if its related to quest items remaining in my inventory while taking quests from Zalissia npcs theory (when I had the error the first time, I completed the dogs collar quest first, dunno if the collar remaind in my bag, then went to a story cutscene at the bar, the second time I went straight to the bar and still had the error until I lowered graphics down)
This game really needs more than 3 quicksaves available
i5-12400f, RTX 4070 super, 16g RAM
I just played 5 hrs no crash, after I loaded a previous save that was 30mins earlier. I guess my save was corrupted and kept crashing
its game related bug tho, within the village. I dont crash anywhere else apart from when im using shops or talking to quest NPC's in the village. its an item in my inv or something. I just cant figure it out.

Firstly, make sure the game is properly allowed through your Windows Firewall.
Then follow these 2 links...

The folders should then look like this,

After following these steps, No more exception errors, I still get other crashes, with memory leaks and the game using all my system ram and going over my max virtual memory allocation, but that's a different thing to fix.
