Flashlight and Muzzle Flash shadows from lighting the environment
Can the devs please patch these items in to the game PLEASE!

When you shoot your gun in dark environments and there's no light coming from the muzzle flash it just looks and feels awful.

Creeping around with the flashlight and not seeing shadows cast by the light feels fake and odd.

Both of these are immersion breaking and this game is all about immersion so this is a strange choice. Even if these items were removed for poor performance at the very least ADD THEM AS A TOGGLABLE MENU OPTION. Please give us the OPTION to use them if we want.

Thanks!

+1 I thought that this was a bug do to playing in Linux. Looks like it is a general game bug. Devs, please fix this.
Its not a bug from the few articles I've read and videos I've watched the devs have stated (I would imagine falsely) that it was a "design decision".

My guess is there were extreme performance issues related to it or UE so they excluded it. It'd really be nice if they got that straightened out though.

UE on console cant handle that kind of lighting, on pc my guess is the dense brush making showdows was just too much for fps.

Maybe a start?

In Console: GetAll LightComponent

[/game/gamelite/blueprints/characters/player/bp_stalker2character.bp_stalker2character_c:spotlight1_gen_variable] bCastShadows=true (not work)

Yeah, please bring this back to the game. In the first reveal gameplay trailer the flash light and muzzel flash shadows were awesome. If STALKER 1 can do it way back in 2006 then sure as hell part 2 in UE5 should be able too. NO EXCUSE for this DOWNGRADE. Bring It Back!

Yep xray engine could do it! Also in S2 NPC flashlights DO cast shadows ... super lame - it looks like fallout 4
There's a mod which enabled shadows from the flashlight. It works but it causes problems with what looks like the normal maps since mutants will glow weird colors under it. Definitely fixable with mods, asset swaps are already possible. It will just take time.

For that bug with the mod, you just need to set your shader quality to epic, or you get purple guys

Yep, works just fine. I don't even get a performance loss.
