Is this a bad game?
No
Is this an unfinished terribly unoptimized mess right now?
Yes
Don't confuse fans of the original games with fans of Anomaly. The latter is an offline looter shooter MMO that has nothing to do with STALKER.
Definitely not my kind of game. Bye guys~
It's a mutant. What do you think it should be carrying?
The point of killing them is to get at what they might be guarding or to protect yourself. If you can run away you ALWAYS SHOULD because there isn't a point to just shooting everything you see and there shouldn't be.
If every single enemy was a net gain for killing them you'd just never run out of ammo, never have to think about if it was worth it to fight something, it would take any thought out of combat entirely.
You never know what that boar you just ran away from would drop if you'd kill it. You might get a shiny new SVD, a bunch of energy drinks and a half-digested arm for your effort!
In this game they're so tanky and evasive (and the loot they sometimes guard is so pitiful) that the pendulum hard shifted to the "run the heck away and never look back" side. That's not even factoring in that you get pounced once and you gotta waste a medkit or bandage everytime. There's simply no reason whatsoever to engage them.
On the other hand, we have all the Fortnite kids, who can't wrap their heads around a concept of choising your fights instead of shooting everything that moves, and then cry about running out of ammo, while a normal Stalker player is selling ammo to traders, because he is just flooding in it.
Wait, you're selling your ammo? I'm just stashing it away in my box, the good loot goblin in me doesn't let me sell it. What if I need that SVD ammo even if I don't have a usable SVD?
