WHATS THE POINT, of killing mutants?
You can’t skin them…
You can’t take some of their body part to sell them…
You can’t sell their skins to sell…

Fighting mutants are 110% guarantee waist of money, time, health, ammo and medkits…

Making money here is absolutely impossible!!! I got 22 bullets left with my makarov pistol!

Why would you put mutants without any rewards????

Like did you play the old stalker games? We went hunting for mutants miles away to get the rare mutants so we can sell their parts and skins back than! Why not here???

Edit: I MEAN LOOK AT THIS!!!! I just waisted 25k to repair my armor and get ammo and medkits after I got attacked by 3 dears and mutants!!! AND I GOT NOTHING!!

I wholeheartedly agree with not being able to loot mutant parts. That being said, I have 15-20 hours on my playthrough and i haven't bought a single round of ammunition... simply because its expensive and i'd rather put the money towards repairing or upgrading. It pays off to look through POI's and go after stashes that pop up on your PDA.

The thing is, looting mutants was a mod originally. A mod that was made and widely used because fighting mutants, even when you got paid to clear nests or to kill particular ones, was still not super rewarding.
Now it's just cooked, since there's no A-life and the radiant questing has been boiled down to essentially the utter bare minimum to still count.

pretty much agreed. People forget skinning mutants has always been a mod, at least as far as playable games go.

That said, there's no rule saying they can't look at mods and implement features that are widely adopted and liked by players, so I do think it's fair to ask for it, just not to be disappointed that it isn't in the game.

Totally agree.
I was expecting to be able to collect things from them, like in The Witcher 3 :Geralt:
Mutant hunting has become completely useless :<
I hope the creators see what their audience wants

Is it messed up that I really wish they'd taken some of the hints, from the mods, and GAMMA? I mean this is STALKER, the real deal, sure. It's so shallow though it just feels like a narrative sequel with bloated graphics, gameplay suffering for that fact.

I agree, even if mutant hunting was a mod, it made the encounters worthwhile, but lets hope they fix urgent problems (ai and a-life) first.

Playing on veteran and literally I'm overloaded with ammo to AK and TOZ without even buying any.

its weird they never brought back animal parts from shadow of chernobyl

Thats what bothers me the most. I feel terrible saying it but like, cmon man, a lot of people, I wont say all, who really liked the stalker games went on to try anomaly and gamma, or mods in general. Who would've been angry if you let us skin mutants or get parts and get money through that? Who would've been mad about backpack slots? It would've let for a lot of customization. Who would be mad about placeable campfires, especially since the A-Life was meant to be real good, and you could've had random stalkers join you. Idk what they were thinking.

On a side note the guitar is kinda fun

Surviving is the only point currently. However, once you realize the mutants are hilariously tethered to specific positions, you can just run away most of the time. The devs gracious put spawn triggers (Primarily mutants.) at hidden stashes though. Hope you love bloodsuckers.

Well I think the main point of killing mutants is staying alive
Haruchai Nov 22, 2024 @ 12:43am
They all charge straight at me, they get what's coming to them. If it moves, shoot it, if it doesn't move shoot it anyway, it might move later.

Not only that
Back then when you were looting some random npc - you had a filling like there was some story behind him (name + callname, rank, group, generated image based on equip etc)
COP and mods extended it, so other stalker were looting too, and you saw how good/bad npc was doing in A-life, some narative
Now it feels like.. just a loot, random items from some stash
I mean, I understand that those features were more game-ish and now devs tried to make it more realistic, but..

the tethering might be even more immersion breaking than the spawning right on top of you tbh. nothing is dynamic there is no sense of space its just a void with pois in it. before it was the zone. really sad
