bloodsuckers knockdown attack
It makes it seem like they did not playtest some things. Or perhaps it was a delusional corporate HR decision, because it doesn't seem to have any afterthought.

Ok so you make them tanky, and you make them knock the player down, not giving them enough time to heal? So you get in a silly loop sometimes of being knocked down, healing and being knocked down again. No time for bandages too.

So how am i supposed to spend the around 120 5.45x39 bullets needed to kill 1 bloodsucker if I can't stay on my feet.

No wonder everybody is using the mod to divide by 4 their health ffs. HOPEFULLY they will remove the knockdown, take the manager who made the decision to the back alley and place two on the back of his skull.

see I usually do and been starting getting onto ledges to ♥♥♥♥ with the ai, but you will come across a mission where there is one in a cave and you fall into the cave so no turning back.

My only complaint is the knock down attack, completely unnecessary.

Sounds like a skill issue :D
No mods in my game and I have only had an issue with the sucker in the caves. You can sidestep most of their attacks.

Play the game on hard?
Why is this a discussion? you cannot dodge the knowdown attack. specially on the cave i'm mentioning.

I have been on veteran since launch lmao. And yes, you can. But you do you, I killed it and have moved on. Gave my friend the same sidestep advice and he was able to get through without dying like we all have. So I dunno what to tell you.

i remember seeing 3 difficulty options, and i don't remember any of them being called veteran.

So reading comprehension or short term memory heavily impaired, you take your pick.

Hopefully you can figure it out :D

The knockdown isn't necessarily the problem with bloodsuckers. Because it seems the bloodsucker's other attacks do not do damage during your stand-up animation. The problem with bloodsuckers is the fact that they have every advantage and zero disadvantage.

-They move super fast. And by super fast I mean they could exit your draw distance in a couple seconds.
-They can teleport (probably a bug, but they can pathfind through obstacles)
-They have 2 different methods of disabling player control. Knockdown and the AOE scream.
-They do enough damage per hit to require a medkit for every individual attack.
-They are tanky, enough to survive multiple mags at point blank.
-They are do not suffer any way shape or form of stagger. If you plug 5 rounds of buckshot at point blank range into their heads, they won't stagger even a little bit.
-They spawn way too often. I feel like every time I walk into an anomaly, there's 2 or 3 bloodsuckers there. I seem to fight about 8 per hour. Remember there is no A-life in this game, spawns just happen randomly.

So my ultimate conclusion is, yes you can overcome this. But they are so extremely annoying to fight, and they are literally more common in my playthrough than boars. They're just everywhere all the time and they take so long to fight.

That is unfortunate, because it is in fact the "hard" difficulty.

I really like the scream though. They only do it if you have your back to them. And you can escape if you react fast enough.
Mutants do seem to teleport but when they run away. If you get on some place high, they will retreat and magically appear when you touch ground again.

The issue with the knockdown attack is that it takes like 4/5 of your health, and using the medkit is slow enough so that they can circle back for the kill. And yeah they're way too tanky, hopefully they will fix it when they fix the armor issue. Bloodsuckers should take 3-4 buckshots to the face, not 20.

I actually find the game perfect, it's just the health of the mutants and the knockdown attack of bloodsuckers, i just wish it was removed entirely.
I have no issues with any other thing on the game. GOTY. Thankfully there is already a modding scene and we will be getting fixes to some things soon.
